SummerNats 26 Meguiars Show and Shine
One of the biggest aspects of the SummerNats festival is the Meguiars Show
and Shine shed where many of the biggest cars are unveiled ahead of the
2013 motorsports season. We took a walk around the pavilion with the
cameras and are pleased to bring you a compilation of some of the
highlights both inside and outside the shed.
101,486 people attended the car event over four days in the Nation's
Capital, a strong increase from the 90,000 who came to Summernats 25. Top
car constructor and green homes builder Mick Fabar was the overall winner
of Summernats 26, taking out the Grand Champion award. His 1967 model XR
Falcon sedan was recognised as the best of the best by Summernats judges.
Labelled ZERO'D, Fabar's car is the world's first ecofriendly Super-Elite
Muscle Car, a 600 horsepower, turbocharged, biodiesel V8-powered sedan built
with a 'zero carbon footprint' approach.

BEST BURNOUT EVER! SUMMERNATS GUINNESS WORLD RECORD BURNOUT!
Summernats 26 broke a Guinness World Record for the most amount of cars in
simultaneous burnout on January 4, 2013 in Canberra, Australia. When the
massive blanket of smoke eventually cleared, Chris Sheedy from Guinness
World Records told the 10,000 plus crowd that exactly 69 cars had managed
to complete a 30 second burnout. Sixty nine. That's a 'Nats kind of number.
Drivers came from all across Australia to fry their tyres together in this
historic event, some traveling thousands of kilometres from Western
Australian and Northern Queensland to take part in the rare feat.
138 tyres x 30 seconds x over 35,000 horsepower = 1 world record.
Thank you to the drivers, staff and sponsors for making this incredible
