1975 Ford Pinto Runabout Project
Found this 1975 Pinto in an ad on Kijiji. It was rotting in a field, and was listed at $600. Could it be fixed?
We used to own a 1973 Pinto when I was a child, so I have always been pretty nostalgic about the car. After spending about 3 months in a string of autobody shops, the car is now in pretty nice shape.
Frame had to be straightened, as well as rust repair, paint, bushings, bearings, brakes, hoses, tires, hubcaps and trim.
I know most people restore cars with slightly better reputations, but I have always had a thing for this poor underdog.
Surprisingly, no work was done to the engine, and it runs great!

1977 Dodge Colt Hemi Comparison Ford Pinto Chevy Vega Chevette Datsun B210 Promo
This is a 1977 Dodge Promotional film which could have been viewed in any of the Dodge Dealers across America that had the Dodge Demo Screen. The Dodge Colt was a range of cars built by Mistubishi. This was in 1977, one full year before the Dodge Omni was introduced. This was all Dodge and Chrysler had for the subcompact Market. These were also sold in Canada and Puerto Rico as Plymouths. This is a film that compares the Colt and it's features to the Vega, Pinto, Chevette and Datsun B210.
1974 AMC Gremlin Commercial Game Show Mary Jo Catlett
In 1974, the AMC Gremlin was the lowest priced car of any USA made car, lower priced than the Ford Pinto and the Chevy Vega and also a significantly better vehicles. You may not have liked the styling but they didn't explode when hit in the rear and their engines didn't blow up like Vegas. This was the single most popular AMC model(body style car) produced by AMC Between 1970 and 1978, almost 700,000 cars were produced and they are much sought after today. In Spring of 2011, A Gremlin can be seen in the Movie Cars II as a henchmen.
