turn your VW Jetta or Golf into a VW Ute in your driveway in a weekend!
Inexpensive, small pickup trucks used to be everywhere in North America. Datsuns, Toyotas, the Subaru Brat or even the 80’s Volkswagen Caddy based on the Golf, have all pretty much all disappeared. But if you're willing to pick up some tools to build your own, or have the Canadian Ute team do a full build or installation for you, you can now bringing the Caddy back with the Smyth Performance Truck Kit for the MKIV VW Jetta and Golf. Listen to some Jethro Tull as Hestermann Autowerks' one-man-team builds the Smyth Performance Ute kit; turning a 99-2004 Jetta or Golf into a pickup - https://www.youtube.com/user/hesty32/videos (to see all the build stages individually) With no garage or high speed shop equipment he takes off the doors and trunk, marks the cut lines very carefully, ensuring all wiring is clear of the cut lines, then takes the saw to the car. Followed by put all the aluminum together then taking it apart, then put it back together. You will see it is time consuming but absolutely critical to get everything straight, true and square. All your body panels hang on this so it has to be positioned correctly for the body lines and seams to match perfectly. The Smyth Performance Truck Kit includes: - Fiberglass left and right quarter panels - Fiberglass rear window surround - Rear slider window - Steel .120 steel roof/b pillar reinforcements - Aluminum inner structural bed sides Aluminum Aluminum corrugated bed floor sections 1/8" thick - Steel OEM tailgate with all hinges and latches - Tail light asssemblies and wiring/bulbs - Center fiberglass rear roll pan/bumper cover - Plexiglass rear quarter windows - Stainless and zinc plated fasteners - Inner carpet rear section trim EASY Assembly Aluminum Bed Heavy Duty Steel Tailgate Fiberglass Body Panels NO Welding Required 416.317.1456 Canadian Ute
