The Defect III (Datsun 120Y) lives!
July 1974 Datsun 120Y 4 door Sedan, which is known in some markets as a
B-210 or Honeybee - it started life as a A12/3 speed Auto/H145 diff car -
it's now is a B310 (Sunny) A12/ smoothcase four speed and BW68 diff in it
as well as late model Australian 120Y sedan front suspension as well
the original A12 engine was seized... so I updated as much of it as I could
to Aussie late model 120Y Sedan mechanicals

My 1991 JZZ30 Soarer with a 1JZ. Exhaust System is custom built with a 3" dump
pipe to highflow racing cat, then splitting into twin 2.5 pipes one set of
silencers removed, and 4" cannon tips.
Startup of Datsun 1200 Buggy
A 73' Datsun 1200 stationwagon rusted out wrecked road car, ripped apart
and rebuilt as this, it has a lightweight tube/galv sheet metal body, with
original diff, suspension and steering components as well as brakes, engine
and even the steering wheel. It sure is fun to drive but still quite tricky
and tail happy because of its SWB layout, pretty quick too, hellova lot faster than the original car. Its
great on gravel roads and in paddocks, if you wana go past 50mph you'd want
to know what your doing because keeping it straight at those speeds is a
challenge, that's what makes it so adrenaline pumping and it's bloody good
fun. This engine has been thrashed and beaten most of its life. Previous
owners (when the engine was in the car) apparently went flat-out up the
road in 1st gear to try and blow it up but failed. These little Japanese
engines, trully are legendary. I re-wired it up a few years ago (when I was
12) and it was built about 30-35years ago and never misses a beat, runs on
stale fuel and starts every time with no choke, doesn't smoke at all except
a bit of blue smoke from worn valve guide seals on start up.

By the end of the year i won my class, and came 2nd outright. During one
race meet, I mounted some cameras and filmed a few of the runs.
Class: Type 4 (extensively modified) upto 1600cc
Best laptime: 52.70sec
Car: 1975 Datsun 120Y
Running a worked A15 with twin SU Carbs. 71 rwkw. 550kg rolling weight. 1/4
mile time of 15sec. Its setup more for dirt rally, rather then circuit or
Extractors hooked up to a 2.25 inch out-the-side Exhaust.
Custom front and rear suspension.
Locked rear diff. Stripped interior.
Tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE55's.
Its not much but its a lot fun :D
