Ferrari V8 vs Corvette V8 - Why do they sound different?
Why does a Ferrari V8 sound different than a Corvette V8? The magic comes
down to the crankshaft type, and the firing order. Because of the flatplane
crankshaft, Ferrari V8 engines have the Exhaust pulses fire back and forth evenly
between the two cylinder banks. Corvettes on the other hand, have a more
uneven firing order in regards to the cylinder banks, resulting in
momentarily greater Exhaust pulses and
then moments without Exhaust pulses.
Both engines sound great, but they operate in different fashions.

The Cobra-Blown, Lexus V8 Swapped "No Style" '75 Corolla
Mark Still is a man of limited sports car experience, but is long on
fabrication skill. So when he decided he wanted to build a hillclimbing
monster, he started with what he was into: old Corollas. Now, his 1975
Coupe has the V8 and subframe from a Lexus SC400, an Eaton M112 Supercharger from a Mustang Cobra, a T56 6-speed gearbox,
and everything else is completely custom. We love it.
parking my 1965 lincoln continental with glasspacks
Unless you want to hear it start, fast forward to 1:20. This is me, in i
think about 2002, parking my 1965 lincoln continental (ALL original minus
the glasspacks) next to my tiny little 1994 subaru justy (semi-intentional
burnout hehe). 430ci engine with 10.1:1 compression ratio. 2.5" pipes from
the Exhaust manifolds to glass packs,
and nothing in between :)
