modified jeep cherokee snorkels very deep water and floats Jake's Place

Check out my other jeep videos and rate thumbs up if you like to 4x4. My 87 jeep cherokee. I'm playing around in my pond. It is at least 7ft at the deep end. When you get in too deep, the whole jeep floats. Good times. Private property. No pollution. If there was, an oil sheen would form on my pond, and I never got one. Steam from leaky muffler, lets water into Exhaust, then it burns off update. Lots more water play caused starter to go out. As soon as I get my ass down to pull n save, I'll do it again. Snow is melting, pond is filling up. Mods include: Snorkel, cpu relocated and sealed, relays relocated, all diff, trans, and t case vents were extended to the roof. Extended Exhaust to roof. new sealed shifter boot. Sealed tub and firewall. Sealed all water entry points to engine. Sealed distributer with lots of silicone, and multiple tries.. Extended dist vent tube. Many tubes of silicone

Jeep Abuse - XJ Cherokee 4x4 Jump, Donut, Drift, Burnout, Brakestand, Off Road, Snow...
Some of my best footage having fun in the Jeep Cherokee. It's amazingly fun to hoon around and takes punishment without flinching. Both Jeeps in the video held up remarkably well to over 100,000 miles before getting rid of them. Music: Long Live Death by Jason Shaw (http://audionautix.com/)

1968 AM General 2 1/2 6x6 Ton Multifuel Truck Resurecting The Toyota
Hey guys, apparently people are having a hard time telling that i was being sarcastic when i said, "I don't think you should be taking this thing off road, This is NOT an off road vehicle" I'm not exactly sure how people can't tell that that is an obvious joke about a 6x6 diesel truck with military tires. I mean, jesus, its even camo! Why would something be camo, unless it was going to be driven in woods, and have to blend in with trees and all... hahah, i don't know guys... i know i said it serious-sounding sort of, but come on now. So anyway, back to the video description: The Toyota has been back in the woods since i had to clean up the field. So Drew borrowed this beast of a truck so we could get it out of the woods. These Tires on the duce really don't do well i the mud. luckily once it digs down, it gets enough traction :) so we plan on getting the toyota going again soon. with any luck :) (update: the woods had flooded bad, about a year before this video was shot, and the toyota was underwater to about 3/4 or so up the seats... so the engine filled with water, and is completely siezed. Its the 20R out of a 79 i had. I plan on finding a 22R for it if i can.)

How To Kill A Jeep (03/16/12)
Went out for a fun day in the gravel pit, but it turned into a long day when we got the jeep stuck! The video is called 'How to Kill A Jeep', not 'how to recover a vehicle properly' or anything else. The Jeep's intake was under water, so it wouldnt start, hence not being able to drive it. The battery was dead from using the winch, and we tried Boosting it, but the winch wasnt strong enough to pull the jeep out. The Jeep is running great, and has been built bigger, better and stronger since. Still wheelin today!

89 Cherokee Chinese Snorkel Install
1989 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer 4.0L I6 Renix AW4 NP231 Get the SJXJA VIP Chinese Snorkel from Ebay for $110 here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/84-95-Chereokee-VIP-Complete-Air-Intake-Installatio n-Snorkel-Kit-System-Off-Road-/121184436609?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Acces sories&fits=Model%3ACherokee&hash=item1c3727c181 I never thought I was going to need a snorkel but it seems I was mistaken. Sometimes after going through puddles my Jeep would stall even though I made it to the otherside. I thought it might have been an electrical issue so I found a deep puddle and very slowly drove in until I was up to the headlights. The jeep kept running so I was a little stumped. I found out later that I was sucking in just enough water into my air box for my air filter to get soaked and suffocate the engine. Then after it dried a little I could start back up. So it looks like I'm in need of a snorkel then. The most common snorkel people look at for Jeeps is the ARB Safari Snorkels. They are built strong, follow body contours, and even come with air box adapters. The only downside is that they cost a decent amount of cash for a plastic tube. So I decided to go with a Chinese knock-off version of the ARB style. SJXJA makes a cherokee snorkel for a little over $100 shipped to your door from Ebay, so I figured, why not? The price does reflect the quality of the product, but not so much that I feel I made a bad decision. The stud mounts that are drilled into the snorkel body weren't square so they didn't line up with the provided template but a quick re-trace solved that. I had to mount the air box adapter a little differently because it wouldn't fit in my engine bay otherwise. It comes with all the necessary hardware and it looks good. Install was pretty simple. After fixing my template, I aligned the it with the fender and marked where my main hole was going to go. You will need a 3 1/4" to 3 1/2" hole saw to drill into your fender. Make the pilot hole, then do your worst. Once the snorkel tube fits into the hole, make sure the snorkel sits on the body correctly and with allow the A-pillar bracket to fit. Drill your farther away stud hole first so you can get the correct pivot angle you want with the snorkel, then drill the studs closer to the main tube. Once the snorkel sits nicely, you can move on to the a-pillar bracket. I put down some tape then mounted the bracket to the snorkel and mocked it all up and traced around the bracket. Then take everything off and put the bracket up to your outline so you can mark the holes you need to drill. Drill them out, then put down some rtv around the holes to keep water out of the cab. You are now ready to bolt down your snorkel. Figure out how you want to mount your air box adapter and make sure it fits in the engine bay. Then drill your 4" interior hole so that the tube will be able to flex into it. Drill, mount, and attach everything else. Put your air ram on and you should be complete. Make sure the clamp is tight so the air ram doesn't fly off on the highway. I've driven through some deeper puddles upto the the top of my tires and the engine hasn't stalled once. The air box also stays relatively dry in the rain as well. If you look at the air ram, you can see indents that going around the snorkel tube to allow water to drip out around the head to help stop water intrusion.
