The History of Lincoln
Henry Leland, a former manager of the Cadillac division of General Motors, and his son, Wilfred Leland, formed the Lincoln Motor Company in August, 1917. Leland named the new company after Abraham Lincoln, his hero and for whom he cast a vote in 1864. Lincoln's first source of revenue came from assembling Liberty aircraft engines, using cylinders supplied by Ford Motor Company, to fulfill World War I government contracts. After the war, the Lincoln factories were retooled to manufacture luxury automobiles. Ford Motor Company purchased the Lincoln Motor Company in 1922, but Lincoln continued to operate as a somewhat separate company from Ford through early 1940. On April 30, 1940 the Lincoln Motor Company became the Lincoln Division of Ford Motor Company At the direction of Henry's son Edsel, in 1923 several body styles were introduced, that included two- and three-window, four-door sedans and a phaeton that accommodated four passengers. They also offered a two-passenger roadster and a seven-passenger touring sedan and limousine, which was sold for $5,200. A sedan, limo, cabriolet and town car were also offered by coachbuilders Fleetwood, Derham and Dietrich, and a second cabriolet was offered by coachbuilder Brunn. As the brand grew it developed several memorable vehicles, the Zephyr, the Continental Mark II, the Lincoln Continental and recently the ubiquitous Town Car. 24 Hours of LeMons South Fall 2009 - Murilee Martin Bumper Cam
Judge Murilee Martin loaned us his camera for the Carolina Motorsports Park Fall 2009 running of the 24 hours of LeMons. Camera is mounted atop the right corner of the front bumper. Team Police Brutality had a lot of overheating issues over the weekend (bad head gasket), though we got some good "V-8 Power" shots of the CMP road course. The stock drivetrain (135K mi) pushes out 280HP, and as you can see, we were pretty stinkin' fast. In fact, we held the fastest lap time for a good part of Saturday (1:02.675) until Lightning McQueen came over the top with a half-second faster time (1:02.123). We had the only other 1:02 all weekend!!! Temperatures were into the mid-90s for most of the race.

The Lincoln MKC European Experience with Justin Bell, Part 2
The 2015 Lincoln MKC was not only designed to let you live in your moment – it was crafted to stand apart from the competition. To show how the Lincoln MKC measures up against the European luxury set, we partnered with Motor Trend and drove it across Germany with professional driver Justin Bell, letting its quiet performance and sleek design speak for itself. We invited a few locals to the race track to test the soul, spark, and suspension on our newest crossover SUV.

In Mexico once again, having some great safe fun under 25mph. 3 Twin turbos 1 Miata and a slicktop NA chasing. This is the safest area we can go within 30 miles, with very very few people on the roads. Please be safe when driving and have fun.

12 second Mark VIII daily driver
This somewhat chronicles the last year of me trying to turn my Mark VIII into a reliable 12 second car that is also perfectly behaved for daily use. I drive this car to work, to client locations, on road trips, and every weekend I take it to the drag strip and lay the smack down on Mustangs, LS1s and imports. After I am done I adjust the climate control, memory touch the seats back to comfort settings, and drive back home getting 28 mpg in silence and luxury. The Lincoln Mark VIII *IS* the gentleman's hot rod.
