World's Greatest Drag Race 2!
It's back! The World's Greatest Drag Race returns with nine of the world's best supercars, sports cars, and muscle cars for 2012 facing off in an epic quarter-mile sprint for glory... and ultimate bragging rights! This year's field includes all nine contenders from Motor Trend's 2012 Best Driver's Car competition. We have the Lamborghini Aventador, Nissan GT-R Black Edition, Ford Shelby GT500, McLaren MP4-12C, Jaguar XKR-S, Porsche 911 Carrera S, Subaru BRZ, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series and Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 -- all gathered together on an abandoned airstrip at El Toro Marine Base to find out which car is the fastest. Obviously these nine competitors display a wide range of power and performance, not to mention price tags. So why are we lining them all up again for one gigantic, over-the-top drag race? It's simple... Because We Can!

Father's Day Surprise
My son returns home from the Army on leave after serving time in Iraq to find our old, beat-up 1974 Ford Maverick fully restored in showroom condition. He did not expect to even see the car in the garage let alone repaired and in mint-condition!

You see, big car companies can have a sense of humour! Take a Formula Ford racer, add a tuned 1 litre 3cyl motor with over 200hp and you have a car which ace racer Nick Tandy got around the Ring in 7min 22sec. That's special, but even more special when it's on the public highway.
My 1970 Maverick
This was my 351W powered Maverick.Stock bottom end, cast heads W/home port job, small solid cam, 8" convertor, C4 and 3.89 gears.I was very proud of it, should have kept it!!!
UPDATE!!
Need to add I got my old car back a year later.I let it sit 6 or 7 months and finally built a 347 for it 10-1 compression budget aluminum heads , Parker intake and demon 750.
Best so far is constant 11.70-11.72 but we marked the slicks and they are spinning on the whee(60ft 1.65-1.70 should be 1.54-1.55 like it was, when I add screws).Still haven't put the screws in to fix the problem. (Haven't ran it since 2010)
