PowerBlock This Weekend - July 12th & 13th 2013
We know it looks great, but the Mothers/Vaughn Gittin RTR Mustang has the chops too! This weekend on PowerBlock Courtney welcomes Jim Halloway from Mothers and their killer track car that you can bid on to win. This 2013 Mustang GT has a 5.0L V-8 engine with 6-speed manual transmission and Ford Racing Supercharger. Yeah it's fast with 650 horsepower and it's Vaughn's vision of what the Mustang should be. It has lots of carbon fiber pieces, HRE Wheels, American Racing long tube headers and a Magnaflow Performance Exhaust. The BASF R-M Onyx two-stage Candy Carizzma waterborne paint is a custom "Mothers Red" formulated by Chris Guinn. Mitch Kelly of Kelly & Son the Crazy Painters in Bellflower, CA. painted the graphics. The custom interior, designed by the RTR team, was mastered by Stitchcraft Custom Interiors of Westminster, CA. The car will end up in January at the 2014 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, AZ. with proceeds going to the Barrett-Jackson Cancer Research Fund at TGen, in honor of Jim's late father Al. Turbos FILLED With Sand! 3000hp Camaro Goes OFF Track!
Doug Cline was having trouble with his 3000hp twin turbo Camaro on the last day of Rocky Mountain Race Week, and to his surprise, after pushing through some fuel build up off the line his car did 190mph after breaking up through the starting line! Unfortunately, Doug chose not to pull the chutes and it costed him potentially two turbochargers after filling them with gravel & sand! Driving 1300+ miles and thrashing on this big block chevy twin turbo’d beast of a Camaro probably didn’t help in split second decisions down the drag strip. Check out this feature as we follow Doug on his journey into the sand pit!
