1987 Lincoln Mark VII LSC Tour And Drive
This is a tour and brief discussion of my 1987 Lincoln Mark VII where I go over some of the unique features of this car, many of which are a first for its kind back in 1987.
This car has the Mustang 5.0L (302 c.i.) High Output (HO) V-8 engine generating 200 hp @ 4000 RPM and 285 Lb./Ft. of torque @ 3000 RPM. Power is delivered through a four speed AOD automatic transmission and solid axle in the rear with 3.27 gear ratio. The engine sports true dual Exhausts with factory "shorty" headers.
This vehicle is all original including the air bag suspension at all four corners that is self-leveling. Also a first for an American car is 4-wheel anti-lock (ABS) brakes which utilize electro-hydraulic power assist.
This car is special since, in many ways, it is a car of firsts: first car to sport acrylic (plastic) headlights, first car to sport 4-wheel ABS brakes, etc. It was Ford's no holds barred attempt to compete against its German rivals, BMW and Mercedes and hence has allot of luxury content to complement the performance. Ford did an outstanding job with this car. I'm going to hate to see it go since these are getting quite rare, but I need to make room for other vehicles. (11/24/2012)
Ford 4.6 DOHC tick (part 2)
Needing help diagnosing the cause of this engine sound. From what we know the engine runs perfect and has no misfires and has new bearings. The pistons and rods are in perfect shape as well. This engine only has 40k miles on it from the time it was in the Mark VIII.

I cut of the resonator and stock muffle and rear muffler under the back bumper made my own y pipe and went with one in one out outset center added turn down where stock mufflers were in the back.
1998 Lincoln Mark VIII Saleen Rims
My 1998 Lincloln Mark VIII in Midnight Grey with Black interior some minor upgrades like 2.5" mandrel bent Exhaust from catback, 3rd cat and the resonator were removed and x-pipe was installed instead, Converted to true dual Exhaust like the LSC models, got rid of factory mufflers and swapped them out for stainless steel Magnaflow mufflers but factory tips were still kept. Also put some chrome 18x9" Saleen Speedstar rims of course for the mark VIII lug pattern, brake calipers were painted metallic deep red, factory air suspension was taken out and lowering springs were installed.
1997 Mark VIII LSC Cherry Bomb Dual Exhaust
This is my wife's 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC with new Cherry Bomb dual Exhaust. It has had the 3rd cat removed and replaced with an H-Pipe and a pair of Cherry Bomb glasspack mufflers in place of the originals. I think it sounds quite menacing. And so does everyone who has heard it. And my wife loves it!
1998 Lincoln Mark VIII Lsc 4.6
This is my mark VIII , it's pretty clean and all i have done to it so far it have straight pipes put on . Sounds bad ass but I'm looking to mod the engine alittle and new gears like the 4.10 . Anyone one have some good suggestions I'll be sure to post my mods after they are done . I switched to coil on my suspension got tired of the issues i had with the bags . Tell me what you think .
