Skoda lanceert komend voorjaar de derde generatie van de Octavia. En dat doet het volgens bekend recept. Het resultaat smaakt nu beter. Want ook de nieuwe editie van het model is zoals de traditie inmiddels wil goedkoper en ruimer dan z'n concurrenten. Maar de Octavia ziet er bovendien beter uit dan ooit, hij is rianter uitgerust en heeft allround rijeigenschappen die het gemiddelde ontstijgen.

The new Skoda Octavia takes a slightly different approach to most small hatchbacks. It offers much more space inside than the likes of the VW Golf,Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra and, of course, other VW group family members like the Audi A3 and SEAT Leon. It's great value, too, with decent prices and the sort of standard equipment that's closer to a Kia Cee'd or Hyundai i30. Running costs should be low, too, thanks to a range of fuel-efficient engines with fuel-saving features such as automatic stop/start for the engine when the car comes to a halt. It all adds up to a great value, hugely spacious and high-quality package that easily won our 2013 CarBuyer Best Family Car award.

Voici la troisième génération de Skoda Octavia. Elle s'allonge de 9 cm par rapport à la précédente, apparue en 2004, pour atteindre désormais 4.66 m de long. Elle reprend l'identité visuelle inaugurée sur la Rapid au niveau de la face avant, et propose un design en lignes tendues, simples. Notre version reprend le 1.6 TDI de 105 ch déjà connu sur la génération précédente.
L'Octavia n'avait déjà pas grand-chose à se reprocher en termes de qualité perçue. La nouvelle venue progresse encore et n'a plus à rougir face à une Passat en la matière. La sellerie claire rend l'habitacle chaleureux. La grosse nouveauté vient de la présence d'équipements high-tech comme le Front
