1000hp 1966 Holden street car
Over the years Raelene's street driven Holden HR has seen quite a few different V8 derived engine combinations but none this potent. Her hubby Mark was driving it this time out as the car ran a personal best pass, getting quicker on every run. The current combo sees a GM 403-cube LS based V8 engine with forged internals Boosted by a Borg Warner turbocharger fuelled by E85 ethanol. The car still retains the factory style column transmission shifter and stock style rear leaf sprung suspension. Backyard built 8-second Holden
After running a string of 9.2-second passes, Mark Drew was again piloting his wife's Holden HR street car at Heathcote. Recent changes include a larger 4in Exhaust, Dominator stall converter and a custom inlet manifold which saw the turbocharged LS V8 make a touch over 800hp to the ground at MPW through street radial tyres. The old Holden still retains the factory style column transmission shifter and stock style rear leaf sprung suspension.
