Honda Civic EG5 Trackcar Build
This is our '93 EG5 Civic track car build, No we dont have a mass of
experience, knowledge or a proper workshop to hand, This was our 2nd build
so we took some evidence along the way to remember it by, It was a little
rushed as we had only had '24 DAYS' to complete before its first track day
at castle combe, hope you enjoy or is of some help to anyone else !

new set of close ratio transmission, after a friend broke most of all teeth
fit in a re-done transmission of a spare one, but didn't work really well.
But still make very competitive lap time.

Standing start at grid no. 13. I gradually climbed up to position 8 and
was going to attack and gain position number 5 or 4 with remaining laps,
but I worked too beyond the tires' limit and caused 2 deadly mistakes which
put me back to position number 13. What a shame. I learned a lot from
this race. 1st and foremost never work beyond the car's design limit. A
simple skid or spun out would simply ruin my hard work. Crossing the finish
line with perfect execution is the ultimate goal, rushing to gain position
just won't do.

Japfest 2011 Car Show - Castle Combe Circuit
Performance Direct Insurance were amongst the many exhibitors supporting
the Japfest 2011 Car Show at Castle Combe Circuit, Chippenham on May 14th
2011. The Performance Direct stand featured a brand spanking Nissan R35
GTR and a modified R34 for comparison. The cars were adorned by the two
sexy Performance Direct Promo Girls Hannah Shine and Faye Evette. The
girls created quite a stir amongst the show which was attended by hundreds
of exhibitors and an estimated 16,000 visitors - most of which it seemed
had their photo taken with the girls!
For track action there were drifting displays run by Maxxis Drift
Championships with the likes of Japspeed, Driftworks, JDM Garage and Garage
D all getting involved. Passenger rides were available with pro-drivers
driving the BTCC 2004 Team Dynamics Honda Civics for a thrilling trip
around the historic racing circuit. And many a Japfest go-er took their own
cars round for a couple of laps.
The mass of static displays increased once again this year with the finest
Japanese Performance tuned cars from across the UK being displayed
alongside many club displays showing some of the greatest original and
modified examples of Japanese motoring. Jap Modified Performance Cars such
as Subaru Impreza, Nissan's from the 200sx, 300zx, 350z right up to
Skylines, R33, R34 & R35 GT-R. Alongside were Mazda RX-8's, MX5's, Honda
Civic Type-R's, s2000's, Toyota Supra's and MR2's, GTO's, FTO's and of
course, no Japanese tuning show would be complete without a more than just
a few Mitsubishi Evo's. These well-modded cars sat next to more unusual
examples such as the Nissan Be-1.

Today we will make a comparative test drive between the two eternal rivals:
Honda Civic and Mazda 3. It is obvious that Honda Civic looks restrained,
conservative, but at the same time quite boring. What can not be said about
Mazda 3. It is emotional, sporty and aggressive.
