JDM B16B EK race car track session
new set of close ratio transmission, after a friend broke most of all teeth
fit in a re-done transmission of a spare one, but didn't work really well.
But still make very competitive lap time.
JDM D15B EG go racing
Standing start at grid no. 13. I gradually climbed up to position 8 and
was going to attack and gain position number 5 or 4 with remaining laps,
but I worked too beyond the tires' limit and caused 2 deadly mistakes which
put me back to position number 13. What a shame. I learned a lot from
this race. 1st and foremost never work beyond the car's design limit. A
simple skid or spun out would simply ruin my hard work. Crossing the finish
line with perfect execution is the ultimate goal, rushing to gain position
just won't do.
While at Bedford Autodrome, I filmed a few speed runs for timing later.
Over the 5 runs I recorded, I worked out average times of:
0-60mph - 4.6
0-100mph - 9.4
I know it's not a 100% accurate method of timing, but it's a good
indication. It was also a relatively cold day.

This is my friend Hong's race car for this year's Super 1500 open class. My
car will be the same except my chassis is EG hatch, and my roll cage is not
fully welded to the car body (for easier body work repair later at the
sacrifice of lateral stiffness). He will be racing in Super 1500 open class
group B, I and another driver (with out own cars) will race in group C.
Hong will also race in Thai Honda Civic One Make Race with K20A Type R
engine sponsored by the event organizer.
Chassis: EK (2door hatch), with roll cage fully welded to the car body for
Suspension: E-spec 2 way adjustable.
Brake: front ATC 2 piston caliber 280mm rotor, race brake pad, rear, stock
caliber and rotor.
Transmission: custom straight cut 1-5 gears.
Interior: Anti-slip buckle seat, 6 point harness, engine kill switch,
emergency fire extinguisher release switch (both engine kill and
extinguisher switch have 2nd switch at the hood for outside access.
Fuel cell: Main race fuel tank inside the car, with sub-tank next to it.
Bosch fuel pump.
Engine: JDM D15B (race regulated, otherwise we would put a B16C or
B18B.hehehe). Light weight flywheel with dual plate race clutch.
Polyurethen engine mounts, JDM superchips custom fuel map and raised rev
limiter to 8500rpm. Lightened valve retainer. High profile camshaft.
Lightened & balanced crankshaft. 12.5:1 Compression ratio. B16C throttle
body, further enlarged with machining work. Custom intake manifold, intake
tube, high flow filter.
Exhaust: 4-1 header, decat mid pipe,
decat Exhaust pipe.
Future upgrade: AiM MXL Strada digital dash display.
