Stock '03 Focus ZX3 doing 1/4 mile run on Mustang Dyno
This is a video of my daily driver '03 Focus ZX3 doing a 1/4 mile pull on a MustangDyno. This car is stock with the 2.0L I4 twin cam motor and a 5-speed manual trans. On this pull I ran a 16.7 @ 82 mph.
10 second "stock" 5.0 coupe!
First 10 second pass in my project coupe. Has a stock 5.0 intake modified,
10 hole wheels, and tail pipes. Yes it has other stuff done to it, but
appears mostly stock outside and under the hood.
For those that just don't get it and can't read the replies in the comments
section the car isn't bone stock. A bone stock foxbody Mustang won't run into the 10s even
with Nitrous. Mid 13s maybe with nothing
at all done. Add gear, slicks, Nitrous
and 11s are doable as I've done that. The stock in the title is in quotes.
It's built to appear stock inside, outside, and under the hood. The car is
currently getting a major overhaul and will hopefully run well into the 9s
while still appearing mostly stock..."stock". ;) The setup in this video
was: Edelbrock Performer 5.0 heads untouched, TMoss ported lower M3 casting
stock lower intake, (cut, ported, shortened stock 5.0 upper intake), 70mm
TB and EGR, 24lb injectors, Comp nx264 cam, 175HP shot Nitrous, decent suspension setup, 28x9 slicks,
4:10 gears, T5, and hard driving. It's a very basic setup that works.
430HP Ford Focus RS Wolf Racing - Acceleration with Backfiring Sound!
This time I have filmed a Wolf Racing Ford Focus RS 400 Stage 2 equipped
with Milltek Non resonated cat back Exhaust racing on a closed airfield against
other cars. Wolf Racing upgrades the 2.5 five-cylinder turbocharged engine up to 430HP and 580Nm!
Although the fact is that the RS is for a while on the market, it sounds
pretty good! Especially with an aftermarket Exhaust system like Milltek, Mongoose, Mountune
or Wolf Racing!

Friends wife racing in NMCA True Street class with her fox body stang. I
personally don't know what is done to it and was told it's fairly stock.
This run she ran a 13.98 @ 99 mph.

2001 Ford Focus ZX3 New Exhaust
Custom intake, ported throttle body, 4-1 race header (OBX knock-off), and
2.25" Exhaust (glasspack res and
magnaflow style perf. tube muffler) ending with a DC Sport tip. Starts
pulling hard at 3500 RPM and keeps pulling to redline.
Yes, the header and Exhaust are eBay,
off-brand. eBay headers usually work fine, but I got the Exhaust solely to use it as cheap piping. I HAD
planned on hacking the muffler/res off and putting new ones on. I was quite
surprised when it turned out to sound rather good so I kept it as is, only
replacing the gaudy tip with a small DC resonated tip.
I may replace the tip since it rattles a little bit when blipping the
throttle (I think it got damaged during shipping). I may also replace the
muffler with a chamber muffler to get a slightly deeper sound. Glad there's
no drone, though! :)
Overall, I'm pleased with how the sound turned out.
Update: I recently got the SCT X3 tuner from FSWerks (formerly FocusSport)
and re-tuned my ECU. If you have a 2.0 Zetec motor I HIGHLY recommend this
tuner. The engine feels totally different. No more hanging revs, smoother
idle, more power/torque at lower RPMs... I love it!
