Lamborghini Jalpa with LS1 V8 power

A very rare sight on the road, Nick's Lambo Jalpa is a little different from most in that the factory 3.5L V8 has been put aside in favour of a stock standard GM 346ci LS1 engine. Mated to a Toyota MR2 trans-axle gearbox, the best time for the night was 11.8 at 124mph. http://www.facebook.com/fullBoostcomau http://www.youtube.com/user/fullBoostcomau http://www.fullBoost.com.au

Twin turbo LS1 Lamborghini
With less than 450 made, the Lamborghini Jalpa is somewhat of a rare car these days. The factory 3.5L V8 engine only puffs out a moderate 250hp so with that in mind Nick fitted a GM LS1 a few years back. The car had run 9.7 at 137mph over the quarter with a Supercharger but it was quite hard on driveline parts, the gearbox being a custom built Toyota Camry transaxle. The blower is now gone in favour of a couple of Ford XR6 Garrett turbochargers that at present make 690hp to the rear tyres on moderate Boost. With the softer Boost delivery of the turbochargers and a higher trap speed, Nick was being very easy off the line being the first time out with this combination, but it’s obvious with more track time this Lambo is going to go real fast. ~ #LSTHEWORLD 1988 Lamborghini Jalpa P350 GM LS1 engine 383ci stroker Ford XR6 Garrett GT35 turbos @ 14.5psi Custom Toyota Camry transaxle Billet 35-spline axles, 9in diff, 275 radial tyres Power: 515kW / 690hp @ wheels Built at home, Pump 98-ron unleaded Tuned by Initial D Racing Calder Park Street Drags, Australia - Feb 5th 2106 #LSTHEWORLD stickers http://shop.fullBoost.com.au/product-p/st-lstheworld-27.htm http://www.fullBoost.com.au Get your track gear! http://shop.fullBoost.com.au Follow us on social media @ Google+ https://plus.google.com/+fullBoost Facebook http://www.facebook.com/fullBoostcomau YouTube http://www.youtube.com/user/fullBoostcomau Twitter https://twitter.com/fullBoostcomau Instagram http://instagram.com/fullBoostcomau
