1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Start Up, Exhaust, In Depth Review, and Test Drive (Video #800)

This ZR1 has been in in storage for a good while and I got the great opportunity to do a video review on it. We had to jump the battery since it had been sitting so that's why it was slow starting. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of the 1990 ZR1 while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration and test drive. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

1984 Chevrolet Corvette 4+3 2 Owner CLEAN Youngtimer C4 For Netherlands Export
I like a 84 Corvette and I like them because of the way they ride a bit stiffer than other years and also i do dig the 4+3 Option as well and Maybe it's from My 1982 Collectors Edition I Drove for 6 years But i really like a Cross FIre Injection. Be it a Argument for most folks these cars are nice and have a Great look to them and with the Doug Nash 4 Plus 3 You likely have one of the most economical Corvettes ever built. Not you average Car Dealership but just good old clean classics at affordable prices .;;-) Cheers The fourth generation Corvette was the first all-new Corvette since 1963. Production was to begin for the 1983 model year but quality issues and part delays resulted in only 44 1983 model prototypes being produced that were never sold. All of the 1983 prototypes were destroyed except one with a white exterior, medium blue interior, L83 350 ci, 205 bhp V8, and 4-speed automatic transmission. After extensive testing and modifications were completed, it was initially retired as a display sitting in an external wall over the Bowling Green Assembly Plant's employee entrance. Later this only surviving 1983 prototype was removed, restored and is now on public display at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It is still owned by GM. Regular fourth generation production began on January 3, 1983 as the 1984 model year and delivery to customers began in March 1983. The 1984 model carried over the 350 cu in (5.7 L) L83 slightly more powerful (5 bhp) "Crossfire" V8 engine from the final 1982 third generation model. New chassis features were aluminum brake calipers and an all-aluminum suspension for weight savings and rigidity. The new one piece targa top had no center reinforcement. A new electronic dashboard with digital liquid crystal displays for the speedometer and tachometer was standard. Beginning in 1985, the 230 bhp (170 kW) L98 engine with tuned port fuel injection was the standard engine. September 1984 through 1988 Corvettes offered a Doug Nash designed "4+3" transmission -- a 4-speed manual coupled to an automatic overdrive on the top three gears. It was designed to help the Corvette meet U.S. fuel economy standards. Since 1981 when it was last offered, a manual transmission returned to the Corvette starting with production in late-1984. The transmission proved to be problematic and was replaced by a modern ZF 6-speed manual gearbox in 1989. In 1986 the second Corvette Indy Pace Car was released. It was the first convertible Corvette since 1975. A Center High Mounted Signal Light (CHMSL; a third center brake light) was added in 1986 to comply with safety regulations. All 1986 convertibles had an Indy 500 emblem mounted on the console making any color a pace car edition. The color of the pace car used in the race was yellow. In 1987, the B2K twin-turbo option became available from the factory. The Callaway Corvette was a Regular Production Option (RPO B2K). The B2K option coexisted from 1990 to 1991 with the ZR-1 option, which then replaced it. Early B2Ks produced 345 bhp (257 kW) and 450 lb·ft (610 N·m);[12] later versions boasted 450 bhp (336 kW) and 613 lb·ft (831 N·m).[13] 1988 saw the 35th Anniversary Edition. Each of these featured a special badge with an identification number mounted next to the gear selector, and were finished with a white exterior, wheels, and interior. In 1991, all Corvettes received updates to the body, interior, and wheels. The convex rear fascia that set the 1990 ZR-1 apart from the base model was now included on L98 Corvettes, making the styling of the expensive ZR-1 even closer to that of the base cars. The most obvious difference remaining between the base and ZR-1 models besides the wider rear wheels was the location of the CHMSL, which was integrated into the new rear fascia used on the base model, but remained at the top of the rear-hatch on the ZR-1's. I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (http://www.youtube.com/editor)

1990 Corvette ZR1
Bright Red exterior, Black leather interior, both glass and painted tops included. 375hp DOHC LT5 engine, 6 speed manual transmission, posi rear-end. Coming with a clean Carfax, this 1990 Corvette ZR1 is in particularly nice condition with just 37,017 original miles, and is also VERY well documented with plenty of factory and dealer literature as well as service records since new. This car's paint is in very good condition, with a deep shine. Glass top is in very good condition with no typical cracks or de-lamination, and the window sweeps are in good to very good condition as well with no cracks or missing pieces. Even the hatch seal on this car is in very good condition, showing no typical corner breaks. Door and window seals are also in very good condition with no apparent cracks, which is almost unheard of for an original 1990 model year car. This car still has a correct ZR1-specific windshield, with no obvious typical de-lamination issues to speak of. Usually replaced by previous owners with the 1994-95 style wheels, this car wears the SUPER rare original 1990-only GM ZR1 wheels, which are in very good original unrestored condition with no typical clearcoat peeling issues. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport, showing an average of 8/32nds tread depth remaining. The interior of this 1990 Corvette ZR1 shows very good condition factory leather seat covers, carpet, and door panels. Steering wheel has a large fingernail scuff on the lower rim, but is otherwise in very good condition. Center console is in good condition. This car comes with several very hard to find original items, including the 1990-91-only ZR1 'pizza box', which was mailed to original owners in the first two production years of the ZR1. This box contains a hardbound book on the ZR1, a ZR1-specific owner's manual, VHS tape, copy of original window sticker ($60,650), leather document case, and VIN plaque with the original owner's name. Also included with this car is the original owner's manual portfolio, brochure, a 1989 issue of Road & Track featuring the first ZR1 road test, a very rare red/red 1990 1:32 scale dealer promotional model in box, and all records since new. The only other addition to this car is an ashtray plaque. Please note that the original RPO sticker is missing on this car. Subframe is clean and corrosion-free. This is one of the nicest and most complete affordable 1990 model year ZR1's, we've seen....call us now! Factory features include 375 DOHC LT5 engine, 6 speed manual transmission, both glass and painted tops, FX3 Selective Ride and Handling suspension, electronic climate control, dual power sport seats, Bose Gold CD/Cassette stereo, fog lamps, low tire pressure warning indicator, power windows, power locks, power steering, power brakes, power mirrors, power antenna, tilt, cruise control, ABS, traction control. 37K Miles.
