Fire Force 3 Jet Car - 10000+ bhp - 1/4 mile 5.95
2016 VW Action at Santa Pod Raceway. The Fire Force 3 Jet car is officially the fastest jet car in the world, having run a 5.79 @ 336mph before!! It is powered by a Pratt & Whitney J60 engine from a Sikorsky Skycrane helicopter, with 5500lbs of thrust, converting to over 10,000bhp. Nice video of it still running in the 5's with a 5.95 but opening the shoots early to criss the line at 224mph. WORLD'S FASTEST PRO STREET DURAMAX DIESEL! TRIPLE TURBO! STREET LEGAL 8.55@161.67! BYRON DRAGWAY!
Brett Deutsch shatters his own personal best and world class record of 8.62@161.25mph with a 8.55@161.67mph in his Triple turbo '05 Duramax diesel engine powered '69 Chevy C10 pickup at Byron Dragway's Diesel Truck Blackout Drag Day 11-1-15. In Brett's own words...My grandpa gave me the truck when I was 15 years old. My dad (Don) and I took the whole truck apart and sandblasted everything. We did all the body work that needed to be done and my dad painted it for me. That was 16 years ago and the truck still has the same paint job on it. We put a tune port fuel injected motor in the truck when I first got the truck. I spent the next ten years putting different sbc engines in it. The last gas engine I had in the truck was a supercharged fuel injected 383 stoker motor. I had always wanted to install a diesel in the truck because that's what I do for a living. I'm a diesel mechanic. So in 2009 I found a Workhorse bus that was a rolling chassis with the Duramax engine and Allison transmission in it. I bought the bus and started fitting everything into my truck. We got the truck running in 2010 and added a Danville Performance ( DP) VGT 68mm turbo and DP EfiLive tuning. The truck ran and drove great. I was able to run a 11.0 in the 1/4mile. Over the winter of 2011 I made a twin turbo system for the truck. Still with the stock engine I was able to run a 10.6 in the 1/4 mile. Later that year I ended up bending all 8 connecting rods. In 2012 I went to DP and we built a new motor using better connecting rod and pistons. I was able to run a best of 9.4 in the 1/4 mile. In 2013 we added a little more power to the engine and was able to run a 9.2. At the end of the season in 2013 we decided we wanted to start racing in the ProStreet class for the NHRDA. So we built a new motor and had HSP Diesel fab up a triple turbo kit for the truck. The engine has Wagler Competition cylinder heads, Bullseye Power turbochargers, Danville Performance built motor and a Rossler turbo 400 transmission with a Neal Chance Racing Converters torque converter. We only made it to a couple races this year but we qualified to race at the world finals for the NHRDA in Ennis TX. We ended up winning the World Finals and setting a new prostreet world record with a 8.810 @ 158mph. The best part of this truck is I still drive it on the street and it even has A/C. Worlds Fastest 1/4 mile ever on dragstrip 3.58 secs @ 386 mph (621.61 km/h)
Fastest 1/4 mile ever 3.58 secs @ 386 mph (621.61 km/h) Santa Pod dragstrip is the venue in which the current world drag racing record, a time of 3.58 seconds at 386.26 mph (621.61 km/h) was set by Sammy Miller in his Vanishing Point funny car in July 1984 The car is powered by a fuel called hydrogen peroxide which is stored in the large tank at the front of the car. To pump the fuel to the rocket the tank is pressurised by two tanks of air - one either side of the car. Both tanks are connected together with a pair of pipes and fed into a regulator. The regulator keeps the pressure inside the fuel tank at a constant pressure (between 300-700 psi depending on the thrust required). There is also a safety valve which will open if anything should over pressurise. The fuel is then fed to the throttle valve at the back of the car, this controls the flow of fuel. The fuel is then fed into the rocket engine Inside the engine, the fuel is sprayed onto a silver mesh, a reaction takes place and the fuel breaks down giving off heat and water. This produces a blast of high pressure steam & oxygen. The engine produces about 14,000 lbs of thrust and sends the car forward at a very high speed. In 1977 in the Mojave Desert, Kitty O'Neil piloted a hydrogen peroxide powered rocket dragster built by Ky Michaelson to the quickest quarter mile elapsed time in auto history, with a timed run of 3.22 seconds at 396 mph (637 km/h) with an average speed of 279.5 mph (449.8 km/h). This was in the desert not on a track.
