Wild Ford XR6 turbo!
Welcome back to the track Karman. After a 4 year absense the Ford XR6 turbo awoke first pass off the trailer. The Falcon is still a full weight car with electric glass and factory interior. Quickest pass for the day was an easy 9.0 at 151mph. Not only has it defeated the Ford Falcon on the motorsport battlefield, it has also wounded its arch enemy both on the road and in the showroom. The Blue Oval, however, is going back on the offensive with a new weapon: the first Ford Falcon XR8 since 2010. The Ford FG X Falcon XR8 and Holden Commodore SS V Redline cost the same $54,690 in automatic form as we have them here, but the eight-cylinder approach under the bonnet is different. Ford has the on-paper advantage. The XR8 has seized the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 out of the GT that’s no longer on sale, giving it 335kW and 570Nm. The Holden opts for capacity over forced induction, with a 6.0-litre V8 producing 260kW and 517Nm.

1960 Ford Falcon Gasser Drag Racing at the king of clubs Rockabilly road trip. Nothing like a straight axle in a 1960 ford falcon. gasser was a type of hot rod originating on the dragstrips of the United States in the late 1950s and continued until the early 1970s. Gassers were based on production models from the 1930s to mid 1950s, which have been stripped of extraneous weight and jacked up using a truck beam axle to provide better weight distribution on acceleration (Beam axles are also lighter than an independent front suspension), though a raised stock front suspension is common as well. Common weight reduction techniques include fibreglasss body panels, stripped interiors and plexiglass windows (sometimes color tinted). Being built for racing, these cars are subject to either an engine swap, tuning or both. It was very common to fit a Roots Supercharger and mechanical fuel injection, such as one from Algon, Hilborn, or Crower. With form being dictated by function, their appearance is often very top heavy and ungainly, largely due to front ends being raised higher than stock, to assist weight transfer.[citation needed] Having their Exhaust pipes exiting through the fender well is a common characteristic.[citation needed] Although functional, these cars were often flamboyantly painted in metalflakes, pearls, and candy finishes complemented by lettering in wild fonts.[citation needed] The name arose because they were a gasoline-fuelled class, rather than using methanol or nitromethane. The Ford Falcon was an automobile produced by Ford Motor Company from 1960 to 1970. It was a huge sales success for Ford initially, handily outselling rival compacts from Chrysler and General Motors introduced at the same time. During its lifespan, the Falcon was offered in a wide range of body styles: two-door and four-door sedans, two-door and four-door station wagons, two-door hardtops, convertibles, a sedan delivery and the Ranchero pickup. y American standards of the 1960s, the Falcon was a small car, but elsewhere it would be considered a mid-size car. It was powered by a small, lightweight 90 hp (67 kW), 144 CID (2.4 L) straight-6 with a single-barrel carburetor. Construction was unibody, and suspension was fairly standard; coil springs in front, leaf springs in the rear. Drum brakes were used at the front and rear wheels. Front suspension was independent with coil springs.[5] A three-speed manual column shift was standard with the two-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic optionally available . There was room for six passengers in reasonable comfort in the simple interior.[6] Body styles available from the launch year were two- and four-door sedans, two- or four-door station wagons, and the Ranchero car-based pickup, transferred onto the Falcon platform for 1960 from the Fairlane. A Mercury derivative, the Mercury Comet, originally intended for the defunct Edsel marque, was launched in the US midway through the 1960 model year.
