In 2005 I done some rust repairs on a MK2 Jaguar for a friend, I done the
rapairs in my garage where I was renting at the time, the paint work was
done at my work which is a body repair shop.

Two Mk2 Jaguars In Need Of Restoration
This shows in detail the inside and outside of two Mk2 Jaguars which are in
need of restoration and are in a secret location in Guernsey, Channel
Islands.These two Mk2 Jaguars have been in the same place, on some
wasteland, right by the sea for at least a year as I filmed most of this a
year ago and needed to redo some stuff on the 8th April 2011 and they were
A couple things had been damaged on the Mk2 Jaguars since last year but
they were in much the same condition despite being a few feet from
corrosive sea water. Someone obviously paid to have these Jaguars imported
into Guernsey, as one still has a UK number plate 526 XUB and had left them
with some doors unlocked, just to rot away and at risk being vandalised.

car has been subject to an annual no-expense spared maintenance programme
and is in exceptional condition.
The specification includes:
Fully restored, rustproofed and strengthened body shell - fitted with
Coombs rear wheel arches and finished in Opalescent Dark Blue.
The interior has been trimmed with grey hide throughout with matching
carpets, JD Sport electric adjustable and heated seats, steel electric
sunroof, power windows, tinted glass, heated rear screen, inertia reel
front and rear seat belts, custom made rear baby seats in matching grey
leather with ISO fix fittings. Modern refinements include our latest zoned
digital air conditioning and electric adjustable power steering has been
fitted in last the few months.
The fully rebuilt, balanced and hand assembled 4.0 AJ6 fuel injected engine
- provides very strong power and torque - with figures well in excess of
the most highly tuned 3.8 engines from 50 years ago. This particular car
with its advanced engine management and upgraded cooling system - drives
exactly like a modern GT car - fuss free in traffic - without overheating -
not something which can always be said of an original Mk. II Jaguar!
When it comes to driving - the modern 5 speed gearbox fitted to this car is
a massive advance over its period Moss fitment - not just in ease of use
and shift quality - but also with the additional 5th gear - relaxed high
speed cruising now becomes the cars forte. In addition - whilst we'll
concede economy is hardy the rationale behind this car - the fuel injected
modern engine together with the improved gearbox provides a welcome and
practical benefit in fuel economy - and provides the car with a usefully
longer range than it's period counterpart.
These significant performance upgrades are tamed by AP 4 pot racing brakes
with ABS - together with the security and stability of our JD Sport
suspension and the car runs on strengthened competition specification
chromed wire wheels with period sympathetic modern performance tyres.
