Brad Hansen General Sales Manager at West Coast Mazda does a walk-through of the 2014 Mazda 6 SKYACTIV Sports Sedan. I have has a chance to drive the car for a few days now, it just arrived last week. We are barely into calendar 2013 yet but this is a 2014 model. The car industry will never follow the proper calendar. We are living in the future here.
The materials are absolutely top notch. Mid-sized cars are generally called family cars. This is a family car but for anyone who wants to have a little bit more fun with the car this car can sure take a corner and has enough power for most people to get pretty excited about.
This is our second SKYACTIV engine. Mazda's answer to the problem posed by rising fuel prices. It is a re-think of the internal combustion engine first and foremost. Mazda engineers tried to tweak the internal combustion engine to get the most power out of every drop of fuel that goes in there. The engine is a 13 to 1 compression ratio which is a combustion ratio not normally seen in an everyday passenger car.
This vehicle has a lot of low end torque. Powering out of a corner the power is immediate; the transmission knows exactly what gear to be in. All of the down shifts are revv matched. It feels like a relatively high performance vehicle while still being just a 4 cylinder engine.
This is our second vehicle to feature what they call a KODO soul of motion design language. What it is supposed to invoke is the feeling of movement, without the car actually moving. The lines on the car really make it stand out on the road.
There really is something special about this car where mid-sized cars traditionally are kind of practical. Whereas this car is a lot of fun to drive, it gets great fuel economy. It is a winning package if you will. This vehicle really should be competing in a higher category.

2013 Mazda 3 SKYACTIV Touring Edition - Metro Vancouver, BC Review & Road Test
Brad Hansen from West Coast Mazda reviews the 2013 Mazda3 Touring Edition
Hey Brad Hansen here for West Coast Mazda. Today we're going to have a
look at the 2013 Mazda3 SKYACTIV touring edition
So the mazda3 SKYACTIV just won the AJAC (Automotive Journalist's
Association of Canada) award for best new small car under $21,000. What
this means is that all the men and women that drive cars and write about
their pros and cons everyday for a living found that out of all the new
small cars sold in Canada, this Mazda3 was the best. Now, this isn't an
easy group to please, yet out of all the cars they compared the mazda3 to,
They found the mazda3 to have the highest quality, the best visibility, the
best driver position and ergonomics. They found the Mazda3 to have the
best steering, handling and the most effective brakes. They also found the
Mazda3 SKYACTIV to have the best throttle response, the best engine
refinement and the best transmission. This is proof positive that getting
the best fuel economy doesn't have come at the cost of having fun behind
So what's new for 2013? Well this touring edition we're driving today is
new and borrows a lot of cool features from the GT model. Let's pull over
here and have a look
On the outside here you'll notice that stepping up to the mazda3 touring
edition gets you this subtle but sporty rear lip spoiler and these stylish
LED tail lights. One the handiest features you'll quickly become
dependent on is the intelligent key system which allows for unlocking and
starting the car without taking a key out of your pocket.
Some of the other Premium features included with this touring edition
include an auto dimming rear view mirror and dual zone climate control.
My favourite feature of the touring edition though is right here.
This a powerful 10 speaker BOSE audio system with Centerpoint surround
sound which delivers a multi-channel surround sound experience from
2-channel sources and also has Audio Pilot noise compensation technology
which detects and measures ambient sound and actually distinguishes between
music and unwanted noise.
As with every Mazda, safety is standard. The Mazda3 is an IIHS top safety
pick and has advanced dual front airbags, dual front side air bags and dual
side air curtains. and just to make sure you are the only one having fun
behind the wheel, Engine immobilizer and anti-theft alarm are also
So there you have it. A whole host of premium features and technology in a
small car that rewards the driver with the best in performance and the best
in fuel economy.
There's zero compromise here in the 2013 Mazda3 and there's zero
complication in buying your new Mazda at west Coast Mazda.
Until next time, I'm Brad Hansen for West Coast Mazda - A Better Place to
Buy a Car.

2014 Mazda 6 First Look & Test Drive
Brad Hansen from West Coast Mazda having a first look at the all-new 2014
Mazda6 SKYACTIV Sports Sedan in Metro Vancouver, BC
With most manufactures, you see a concept car debut at an auto show only to
be let down when the production vehicle arrives in the showroom. The
dimensions have changed, the wheels are smaller - all the bold design
features have been watered down to the point of non-existence.
Not the case here with the 2014 Mazda6. The car that we're looking at
today debuted as the Takeri concept car at the Tokyo auto show in December
of 2011. And here, just a little over a year later is the actual production
car - and immediately you can tell that nothing was compromised. As the
2nd vehicle to feature the full suite of SKYACTIV technology and Mazda's
dynamic KODO - soul of motion design language, the 2014 Mazda 6 promises to
provide uncompromised performance and class topping fuel economy. This car
exemplifies the promise of zoom-zoom.

2014 Mazda6 Test Drive & Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/mazda/mazda6/2014/?id=32972 The 2014 Mazda6
combines a technological advanced SKYACTIV engine, refined exterior, and
exciting driving characteristics into one great all around package. This
3rd generation Mazda6 builds on the success of its predecessors while still
maintaining an affordable base price at $20,880. If you have to buy a new
sedan then might as well go for one that looks great!
The mid-sized sedan segment is not very exciting even though it is quite
competitive. Most vehicles in this category all have the same styling and
can get lost in a sea of the mundane. But the 2014 Mazda6 could be the
exception. Mazda is a passionate car company looking to make fun
The exterior of the Mazda6 has been completely redesigned. Gone is the
smiley grille replaced by a much more vertical and pronounced piece. This
great new look can be seen on other Mazda vehicles, most notably the CX-5.
While most manufacturers are moving to the cab forward design, Mazda has
instead gone for a cab rearward look by stretching the sheet metal. The
lines on the side seem to keep flowing. This car is not just about form;
the new model also uses a lot more high strength steel. Mazda has made a
conscious effort to convert the Mazda6 from a regular mid-sized car into a
premium car. From the back the simple design looks very upscale, almost
like a Lexus ES.
On the inside Mazda has done a lot to compliment the outside. The gauges
and instrument panel have all been updated. The 2014 Mazda6 is available in
3 trim levels: Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. The higher the trim level
the more standard features you get.
You probably have heard about SKYACTIV technology on many of the new Mazda
vehicles. This powerplant has now made its way onto the 2014 Mazda6 making
the car more fuel efficient. The engine is a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder 184 horsepower and 185
lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is excellent at 26 MPG in the city and 38
MPG on the highway.
The 2014 Mazda6 can satisfy a whole range of automotive shoppers; from
those who just need a commuter car to the enthusiast looking for a fun

The Mazda CX-3 has taken its time to join the small SUV class, but it
certainly makes up for lost time. CarAdvice was among the first media in
the world to drive the new CX-3 at the Anglesea proving ground in Victoria,
The engine line-up includes a 2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel, with front and all-wheel-drive
Up front the Mazda CX-3 shares its interior design with the new Mazda 2,
which is no bad thing as it looks funky and cool.
The Mazda CX-3 sits between Mazda 2 and Mazda 3, wearing a price tag of
$22-32,000 when it arrives in showrooms in the second quarter of 2015.

What I have to say about the 2014 6: Mazda has redesigned the 6 for 2014
and it was needed. The previous generation 6 was falling short in sales
compared to the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, however Mazda knows that it
is highly unlikely that the 6 will meet up to the Accord and Camry. The 6
is the BMW of midsize sedans, which it really does feel like a BMW which is
pretty good. Material quality is also up for 2014 and everything seems well
put together and not cheap. The Electronics/Technology is good in the 6,
but the Navigation unit still remains behind the times, however you do have
Pandora now. The engine is also super fuel efficent which is good in order
to compete in the midsize sedan class, the Nissan Altima is almost head to
head with the 6 in fuel efficency. On top of all that, the most important
facotr that Mazda uses to lure in buyers is the zoom zoom driving dyanmics
and it does gice alot of feedback which is very important. All in all way
better than the previous generation.
