A force de ne jamais faire les choses comme tout le monde, et bien... on ne les fait jamais comme tout le monde :-) C'est ainsi que la WebTV Moto Journal est allée disputer le GS Trophy (sorte de Gamelles Trophy de la moto, réservé à de valeureux guerriers prêts à bouffer de l'anaconda cru pour sortir vainqueur d'une horrible jungle) au guidon de la routière et sportive BMW 800 R. Preuve en est (en était-il besoin d'ailleurs?) que peu importe le flacon, l'important étant de participer dans l'ivresse et la bonne humeur générale.

We were in the midst of a crazy heatwave, temperatures of 39'C or over 100'F made the ride down a little sweaty. We arrived Friday just in time to catch some of the "GS Giants" on the purpose built off-road track. Saturday the track will be open to the public. We do a little shopping since Chris needs tires and a rear brake disc. Yes he did the 700 plus kms sans rear brake. We remove the HP2's wheels and leave it sitting on it's belly with one boot strategically wedged under a cylinder to prop it up. We should have charged admission as it was a popular gawking spot for the other attendees. Ambulances were coming and going all day hauling away over cooked bikers. Saturday we hit the GS track and are too hot and lazy to unload our bikes so we do the course fully loaded with tents and chairs. Riley's first lap goes well but on the second go around he has a nice spill and is left with some lingering injuries. Chris also takes a tumble in the sand. We decide to head up through NY state and Adirondack park after spending 45$ enjoying the night in air conditioned comfort at a strange marina/motel.
