8V53T Detroit Diesel first start
Detroit Diesel 8V53T, (turbo just
removed for test run) this is literally the first starting attempt after
bringing it home, it had sat for years. Not so many 8V53 Detroits were
made, and very few turbocharged ones,
This is one of about four I know of.
1,600 Wheel Horses on the Dyno...
Anytime you take a couple F2 chargers feeding a whole bunch of cubes and
add methanol even on only half of max Boost it is quite a show.. Intake gasket that
didn't want to play cut the day short. Around 1,600whp through an auto!
Lots left in the car and the Dyno. Over 1K ftlbs by 4
thousand... Easily the new top HP record for the Dyno without even trying yet.
Had manners like a street car just a bit more bark.
Built by Mark Werdehausen of Tydo racecars. A few of the components

Dyno: Twin-Turbo R8
2009 Audi R8 4.2L with Heffner Twin-turbo package. Running 91 RON pump gas, 6lbs of Boost on a Mustang AWD setup. Installation and
tuning by OEMplus in Laguna Hills, CA. Car also has Brembo BBK, OEM V10
clutch and larger V10 carbon sideblades.

run using 2500 HP turbine unit.

Twin turbo Ferrari Testarossa on Engine
Dyno. The motor is a
4.9L flat 12 which has been upgraded with EFI via a Bigstuff3 PRO SEFI ECM
and twin Precision turboturbochargers. At this stage the motor is running
6psi Boost and has no internal
modifications. We ran it from 3500rpm to 7500rpm and it produced 650hp and
600lbs*ft of torque. Enjoy!

Note: The road is at a 10 degree angle and is 2300 lbs with 1000 hp hence
the brake is on to keep it straight also the car does not have a traction
problem, this is an exhibition burnout! It will launch very hard!
Twin Sbc chevy engines just over 900 rwhp 2307lbs 0-60 under 3 sec, mid
9's 1/4 mile gear limited for 180mph

Mini Cooper (Part 1/2) With Helicopter Turbine Jet Engine Smokes
Having shared the track with it at Homestead Miami Speedway in my 2002
Cooper S it was outrageously fast in a staight line but seeming dangerous
trying to turn. Are there plans to try to make it turn a corner or will
this be a drag machine? Since the Mini is a throttle by wire any thoughts
of syncronizing the two engines to the single throttle pedal?
