2012 Lexus LS 460L Test Drive & Luxury Car Video Review

http://www.autobytel.com/lexus/ls-460/2012/?id=32972 The original Lexus LS 400 debuted back in 1989 and helped to redefine what a luxury car is as well as where a luxury car maker can come from. Asian automakers are known for customer service, dependability, and refinement; and the 2012 Lexus LS 460L is just as exemplary of what a luxury should be as the original. The base model short wheelbase LS 460 starts at $67,630 with the top of the line AWD Long Wheelbase version bringing the price all the way up to $75,480. The 2012 Lexus LS 460L is powered by a 4.6 liter V-8 engine that makes 380 horsepower and 367 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is a slick shifting 8-speed automatic. The powerful engine and transmission help the LS 460L achieve 0-60 MPH in 5.4 seconds. Pretty great for a heavy full-size luxury sedan. Fuel economy is pretty good at 16 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway. The LS 460 host a whole bunch of great features and technology. From a driving and performance perspective the 2012 Lexus LS 460L features dual variable valve timing, an 8-speed transmission as mentioned above, variable gear ratio steering, electronic power steering, and direct injection. You can choose between RWD or AWD with enhanced traction control. The Lexus LS 460L has a sophisticated adaptive variable air suspension. This suspension relies on air springs that are controlled from inside the cabin. The driver can choose between three different suspension setting between sporty and luxurious. On the outside the Lexus LS 460L looks the part of a full fledge luxury car. The paint hob features a wet-sanded finish that increases luster and depth. The headlights are HID with an Adaptive Front Lighting Feature. The taillights feature LEDs which are more noticeable than regular bulbs. The sport edition comes with huge 19-inch alloy rims along with a cool sporty grille. The technology found on the Lexus LS 460L is the best stuff that Toyota has to offer. You get dynamic radar cruise control, an advanced parking guidance system, intuitive park assist, SmartAccess, a backup camera, power trunk, touch screen navigation, and more. The great thing about the 2012 Lexus LS 460 is that it has a great resale value and the vehicle is very dependable. 2012 Lexus RX 450h Hybrid Test Drive & Luxury Crossover SUV Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/lexus/rx-450h/2012/?id=32972 The 2012 Lexus 450h is a crossover luxury SUV that is not only great to drive, but it also has excellent fuel economy ratings. The RX series has been a wonderful selling line of luxury crossovers since 1998 and the Hybrid model sits at or near the top of the list of most fuel efficient SUVs year after year. And the Lexus RX 450h is an AutoPacific 2012 Vehicle Satisfaction Award winner. The RX 450h comes in 2 different trim levels. The first is the FWD model which has a base price of $45,235. The second is the AWD model which has a base price of $46,825. The RX hybrid is powered by an Atkinson cycle 3.5 liter V-6 engine that produces 245 horsepower and 244 lb-ft. of torque. The hybrid powertrain features two electric motors that give an extra Boost to the V-6 engine adding 50 HP. Fuel economy ratings are 32 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. Not only is the RX hybrid very fuel efficient, but it is also a Super Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle. The 2012 Lexus RX 450h sports two systems that help in both efficiency and emissions. The Exhaust Heat Recovery system that helps with the warm up of the vehicle and Exhaust Gas Recirculation which is water cooled and reduces pumping losses. It is not just the Lexus Hybrid Drive that is responsible for the great MPG ratings. The RX hybrid features a start-stop system to increase fuel economy. The luxury hybrid can also run on battery power alone. The ECO mode monitor shows the driver how to drive in a more efficient manner. The RX hybrid sports the first Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission which is meant to keep the luxury SUV in the right gear at all time thus maximizing efficiency. The steering unit runs off electricity instead on a belt driven by the engine. The result is less strain on the engine resulting in better MPG. The 2012 Lexus RX 450h uses a regenerative braking system to power the batteries. On the outside the 3rd generation RX features a bold and exciting new design with a new bumper, headlight assembly, and new grille. Dimensions have been increased a bit and cargo room is up 5%. The real news is that the drag coefficient has been reduced to 0.33 thanks in large part to the rear wing which reduces air turbulence. On the inside the 2012 Lexus RX hybrid is all luxury and technology. The 8-inch navigation is voice activated and a heads-up display projects directions onto the windshield. Supply leather abounds and the front seats are heated and ventilated units that are power adjustable. The 2012 Lexus RX 450h is a wonderful 5-passenger luxury crossover SUV that gets incredible gas mileage. Both green and efficient, the RX hybrid is a great choice. 2012 Chevrolet Volt Test Drive & Plug-In Electric Hybrid Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/chevrolet/volt/2012/ The 2012 Chevrolet Volt may be the most technologically advanced and cutting edge vehicle on the market today. Chevy calls the extended range electric Volt the car of the future. The majority of the time the Volt is powered by pure electricity that come from the batteries; but when you exceed the range of the battery pack, its gasoline burning internal combustion engine acts like a generator, kicking in to create electricity. So in a sense the 2012 Chevy Volt is a plugin electric vehicle that also works like a hybrid that can generate its own electricity. The 2012 Chevrolet Volt has a base price of $39,145. The Volt gets its electricity from a 16kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It costs less than $2 to charge a 2012 Chevrolet Volt. The car can run on electricity from the battery for about 35 miles. This makes the Volt a perfect car for those who have a short daily commute. With the gasoline generator creating power, the Volt can go for 375 miles without having to refuel. There are also systems built into the interactive LCD screens in the das that help you drive more efficiently. On the safety side the Volt made it to the IIHS List of Top Safety Picks for 2012. The structure of the Chevrolet Volt is made from reinforced high-strength steel. There are also eight airbags to protect the drive and passengers. The Volt benefits from StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control as well as traction control. These systems help to keep the Volt on the road and the driver in control no matte the road conditions. On the outside the Volt looks pretty futuristic. But the shape of the car was specifically designed to cut through the air with the least amount of wind resistance as possible. With a drag coefficient of 0.281; the 2012 Chevrolet Volt has one of the lowest figures among production cars. The lower the better the more sleek the vehicle is. And the Volt still looks like a sporty car unlike other hybrids that all have the familiar wedge shape. The Volt comes with stylish 17-inch chrome rims wrapped in low-rolling resistance tires that aid in the fuel economy department. The full sized luxury sedan car market has some really great cars including the Audi A8-L, the Lexus LS460-L, and the BMW 750iL. But the 2012 Mercedes S550 is at the top of the list. This vehicle combines a powerful yet fuel efficient power plant, comfortable ride, and high end technology into one beautiful package. The base price for the 2012 Mercedes-Benz S550 is $94,500. The hugely powerful engine that lives in the S550 is a twin-turbo 4.6 liter V-8. This bad boy pumps out 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque. All that power is transmitted to the wheels through a 7-speed automatic transmission. You can get the S550 in either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. 0-60 MPH is eclipsed in only 4.9 seconds. This is true sports car performance out of a large high-end luxury sedan. Fuel economy is surprisingly good at 15 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. To provide a luxurious ride you would expect from a high-end luxury car, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz S550 has a few tricks up its sleeve. First the AIRMATIC active suspension is computer controlled and will adjust to the road conditions. There are 2 setting: Comfort and Sport. When you choose sports the car automatically lowers a bit to improve aerodynamics and the suspension tightens up. In Comfort mode the S550 provides a balanced enjoyable ride. In addition to AIRMATIC the 2012 Mercedes S550 has an Active Dampening System that will tailor the dampening force of the strut every time there is any wheel travel. On the inside of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz S550 the driver and passenger are bathed in premium luxury. The seats are wrapped in supple leather. Up front the seats are both heated and ventilated for your pleasure. There is also an option to upgrade to message seats which are so very comfortable. Heck even the rear seats can come as 8-way power adjustable units. The Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 sound system is comprised of 15 speakers throughout the interior. This stereo has over 600 watts of music producing power. The S550 comes packed with every bit of technological goodie you need including: Bluetooth, Hard Drive Navigation, Satellite Radio, Rear Seat Entertainment, and more.
