Ford GT40 Lapping at Sebring International Raceway (Onboard)
This is a 1966 GT40 model Mk.I doing some relatively low-speed test laps at Sebring International Raceway's 12-hour long course. Filmed during a NASA HPDE program, the car was in a mixed driver/vehicle group. Passing was strictly limited to specific track locations and required a 'point by' from the driver being passed. This car is Superformance chassis number GT40P/2192 built in 2008,and is registered in the Safir GT40 and Shelby Registries. This particular car was featured in the March 2009 edition of Car & Driver magazine. GT40P/2192 was built by Pathfinder Motorsports, which sells race-prepared continuation model GT40s for vintage racing and for the street. For more info: www.GT40racing.com

2017 June Bug Dash SARRC Race #2 - Sebring SCCA - SHR Racing
After qualifying 2nd overall and first in class. Then winning class and taking 3rd overall in the "Fun Race" followed by losing 3rd gear in race #2 (the first of 2 SARRC races) we replaced the transmission with a spare and readied for the third race (second SARRC points race). But immediately there was a problem with the transmission. No reverse and no 5th gear. The transmission we fitted to the car had been marked "rebuilt" but there were problems. I also noticed the 3rd and 4th shifts to be tough to slide into gear - but it was too late to do anything but enter the race and hope for the best. Unfortunately, the best was not to come. Transmission immediately started having problems and after only 4 laps of this 30 minute feature race, it exploded at about the same time the pole position BMW Z3 broke down. Well at least I got past him! Unfortunately neither of us finished the race. Notice as I pull off the track, the safety crew thinking I was on fire, ready fire extinguishers and prepare to come over the wall to keep me safe. Great job guys. Fortunate for all of us there was no fire, just lots of smoke from the transmission fluid on a hot Exhaust. Hope you enjoy watching
