NEOPLAN model range
NEOPLAN is a synonym for an emotional and moving journey to become a
world-renowned brand. A passion for dynamic design and extraordinary
innovations allows NEOPLAN to produce exclusive, premium coaches. NEOPLAN
"Sharp Cut" design links all NEOPLAN models and creates a high recognition
value, clearly positioning the models in the premium segment. Exciting
surfaces and edges made of glass and metal are brought together with
aerodynamic lines. The new Jetliner is the fifth series in the NEOPLAN
coach range. With a vehicle height of 3.4 m and approximately 1 m floor
height, it demonstrates its role as an introductory model within the
product portfolio. In the two-axle version, it is available in lengths of
12.29 m and 13.05 m. The Jetliner is also characterised by the NEOPLAN
brand's core values -- design, innovation and exclusivity. The Jetliner was
designed for maximum deployment flexibility: on the one hand, it
demonstrates its coach genes with respect to space, equipment, handling
characteristics and the premium travelling comfort typical for NEOPLAN. One
the other, it can be easily used for intercity and scheduled services. This
makes it the ideal "double earner". But the best thing about the Jetliner
is: that it is the only vehicle in its class to combine optimum cost
efficiency with first-class comfort and an elegant design.
The NEOPLAN Tourliner is valued by particularly cost-conscious customers
throughout Europe. This robust coach is available as a two-axle or
three-axle vehicle, measuring either 12 m, 13.26 m or 13.80 m in length and
offers space for up to 63 passengers. The Tourliner is equipped with the
electronic stability program (ESP) as standard, which sets new benchmarks
in the standard coach class in combination with the electronic brake system
(EBS) and brake assistant (BA) as well as maximum speed control (MSC). Its
generous interior offers outstanding space from floor to ceiling. The large
luggage compartment with a volume of up to 10.3 m3 is easily accessible
even in very tight spaces thanks to the parallel-swinging side flaps with a
high clear opening.
As the most sold NEOPLAN, the Cityliner has decisively shaped the European
coach market over the last decades and is a genuine bestseller in the
high-decker coach category. Since 2006, this coach has also featured the
pioneering, award-winning NEOPLAN "Sharp Cut" design in its most attractive
form. It is available as two-axle or three-axle vehicle measuring either
12.24 m, 12.99 m or 13.99 m in length. Two gearbox variants available,
depending on the application. An automated 12-speed manual gearbox is
available in addition to the standard manual 6-speed gearbox. The Cityliner
will be available as a EURO 6 vehicle from as early as 2013.
The NEOPLAN Starliner occupies a leading position in the segment of premium
super high-decker coaches. This is not proven just by the award-winning
"Sharp Cut" design, but also by its great popularity amongst customers. A
particular design characteristic is the SkyLights concept with a massive
panorama windscreen and lateral roof edge glazing. The coach has a height
of approximately four metres is available in lengths of either 12.99 m or
13.99 m. Another typical brand feature is the standard, active, electronic
damper system CDS, which ensures that the around 4 m high vehicle always
remains stable and in a vertical position even on winding routes, making it
very comfortable to travel in. At NEOPLAN, this unrivalled combination of
technology, safety and comfort is appropriately referred to as
"VIPDriving". The Starliner offers up to 50 seats in the 5-star category or
up to 54 seats in the 4-star category.
The Skyliner double-decker coach is NEOPLAN's flagship model and is also a
perfect representative of the VIP CLASS philosophy for luxury on wheels.
Some 4000 NEOPLAN Skyliners have taken to the road all over the world up to
the present day and in doing so have opened up to passengers a unique
dimension in luxurious coach travel. The new Skyliner offers up to 83 seats
across its 13.99 m length and 4 m height and combines a generous feeling of
spaciousness with an excellent view from all seats. The unique DualZone
air-conditioning system with a total cooling output of 56 kW allows
separate temperature control on the upper and lower deck. In addition to
the familiar assistance systems, such as ACC and LGS, the new Skyliner is
the first double-decker equipped with the electronic suspension control
system CDS, a component that benefits driving comfort and driving safety
and can be regulated by the driver in two stages, depending on the load and
topographic circumstances. In addition to the classic coach variant, the
Skyliner can optionally be equipped with professional bistro equipment,
allowing for first-class catering for passengers. Alternatively, the

General concept Skyliner
The new NEOPLAN Skyliner continues a success story that goes back over 40
years and sets new standards in the premium coach class. We would like to
introduce you here to the highlights of this vehicle.
The outer skin of the double-decker coach is characterised by the
distinctive NEOPLAN Sharp Cut design: clear lines and sharp edges, no
unnecessary frills. The innovative SkyLights concept with panoramic windows
is what makes this vehicle so exceptional.
The further improved aerodynamics is expressed in a best drag coefficient
of just 0,41, which means fuel savings of up to five percent in motorway

The new model is designed for maximum capacity in every respect: With a
length of around 14 m, a height of fully 4 m and a luggage compartment with
a capacity of approximately 11 cubic metres, the vehicle can comfortably
accommodate up to 83 passengers on two decks.
The lower deck is stepless and offers a standing height of 1,81 m. It
features a bistro area with tables, a large kitchenette as well as a toilet
on the same level.
Two wide and light stairs provide access to the upper deck.
This is where the "rest area" of the touring coach is located, a place to
relax and enjoy the view. Thanks to the innovative SkyLights concept with
side windows angled into the roof and continuous glass roof, this is not
just outstanding for all passengers and not just those in the front row.
The luggage compartment at the rear can hold around eleven cubic metres of
luggage, can be optimally loaded from both sides and is also accessible
from inside the vehicle.
The drive system of the Skyliner also sets new standards in its class,
producing CO2 emissions of less than 15 g per person when the vehicle is
The efficient 12.4 l MAN D26 common rail engine delivers an output of 505
hp and transmits a maximum torque of 2300 Nm to the drive axle to ensure
that the vehicle can cope effortlessly with every driving situation. A
revamped and comfortable independent wheel suspension is installed at the
front. Perfect manoeuvrability is ensured by the electrohydraulically
steered trailing axle.
As a new feature, the actively controlled chassis CDS is used for the first
time by NEOPLAN in the Skyliner. It reacts with lightning speed to changes
in the load and driving condition and increases both the comfort and safety
of the coach.
All modern safety systems such as radar-controlled Adaptive Cruise Control
(ACC) and Lane Guard System (LGS) ensure maximum safety for driver and
