This is HotRodMercs/ Tony Barnes 1970 Cougar. It is a real street car and runs mid to low 10s. Big Block 460, but this thing weighs 3600 pounds and runs on 10 inch DOT drag tires. This was last year at Mason Dixon Dragway.
1970 Mustang Mach 1 10 Second Drag/Street Car owned by Gene Chandler
This video is from the recent Fontana event, this past weekend. This is the first time I got to see Gene's Mach 1 in action. This is one mean Mach 1...
This car is driven from time to time, on the street. Another great example of a great all around build. Motor setup is a stroked 351 Clevland.
1970 Cougar 351c Dyno Run Dyno run with the Cougar. It made 270hp at the wheels at 5400 rpm. Not too sure how accurate that figure is as I run 104 Mph in the 1/4. Notice the policeman watching :)
In-car drag race, 10 second Camaro
In-car clip of my racing my 1986 Camaro drag car (sold). Video is from 2005, just digging through some old videos since I went to the track today. Video was from a hot day, as you can tell from the blazing sun. My apologizes for the monster hood, makes seeing the track hard to see... Still gives you a good perspective.

61 ford fairlane
my fist pass in my 1961 ford fairlane at highschool drags 11.66

I took the Cougar out for some testing and tuning again. I don't have access to a truck anymore, so I had to haul all my stuff to the track in the Cougar. I'll admit that I felt like a redneck driving around with a tire in the backseat and a toolbox on the passenger seat. I was planning on running the bottle this time out, but found a small mechanical problem before I went to the track, so it ended up being another day running on the motor. This pass was 6.87 @ 101.20. Not too bad for driving to the track.
SummerDuck Drag Racing
I decided to take the Cougar out to the track for some 1/8th mile action. Drove it to the track, bolted on the slicks and gave her hell. Ended up being just over 70 miles round trip. Nothing broke this time!!!This pass was 7.10 @ 98.6 mph with a 1.54 60ft. I haven't managed to get much seat time this season, which may have attributed to my 1st round loss. I definitely could use a little more practice bangin gears. I really want to get some 1/4 mile passes in this year. Seems like I'm just getting started around the 1/8th mile mark..............
65 el camino drag race (in car)
This is an in car view of a low 10 second pass in my 65 Chevy El Camino with a pump gas 540 big block.
1970 Cougar Eliminator in Texas Motor Speedway
We took our 1970 Cougar Eliminator (Competition Green) (1 of only 59 made in this color, engine and drive train code) to the Goodguys Texas Lonestar National Car Show at the Texas Motor Speedway Octo 2-4, 2009. We loved driving into the speedway and on the infield. Our car was the only Eliminator at the show. Very rare and in great shape after restoration. My friend Mike was the lead in the rebuild over about 3 years.
