Demo testing of BMW 850CSi Aktive Hinterachs-Kinematik (AHK). While normal passively steering rear axles allow the wheels to be slightly turned by the forces acting on them when cornering, the hydraulics of the AHK turns in the rear wheels before those forces build up. This minimizes weight changes and allows steering adjustment in a curve to an extent that would inevitably cause you to crash in any other car...

In the mid to late 1980s BMW designer Claus Luthe was tasked with developing a top end coupe as a step up from the existing 6 Series. Although much maligned at the time for being too expensive and too heavy the BMW 8 Series makes a lot of sense as a modern day classic.
