Track Day Crashes - A Compilation (HD)
Trackdays can be fun but when they go wrong, they go badly wrong! DISCLAIMER: I do not own the footage, all clips are available publicly on YouTube.
Fuel starvation - BMW E46 330Ci @ Buttonwillow 13CW track day
The first clip shows fuel starvation in the "Sweeper" at Buttonwillow. The second clip shows normal throttle response in the same corner, just with more gas in the tank. In both clips, DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) and DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) are disabled, i.e., both the DSC and brake warning lamps are continuously lit in the instrument cluster. For me, fuel starvation occurs only when pushing hard at the track, in long right-hand sweepers with about 1/3 tank of gas or less.
