this is my 86 ss im building so far i have put a cam lifters and spring in for the first time.i still working on it but i atill need to get the timing right i did it with out a timing tape or light but like i said it my first time so tell what yall think.yeah it has headers with straight pipes right now and timing gear.my distributor is maying a clicking noise or something anyone know what that means.

SBC Noisy Cam Gear Swap and header install
This was my first noisy cam gear install. I also finished installing my
headers and glass packs. Chevy 350 with Comp Cams Magnum hydraulic flat
tappet grind #12-211-2, with two changes... it has the 4/7 swap and LSA is
112 (instead of 110).

rod, clevite 77 main and rod bearings, fel-pro gaskets, 5140 billet steel
crank, 367.2 hp at the crank, going into my 1984 z28 temperarily

this 283 had a complete overhaul.
i replaced the camshaft with a summit cam .204in .214 ex duration .420 in
The Edelbrock intake i bought off of eBay.
all new valve train, the carburetor is so nice ran terrific. i like the
trick summit dual feed fuel line with the gauge . you can tell when the
fuel filter is getting bad with this thing on there. the heads are original
1965 power pack's this was a matching #'s engine
the pistons are .040 over speed pro forged flattops,with stock rods, stock
crankshaft. installed the the points style distributor is a pertronix
ignitor, with a flame thrower 35,000 volt coil. Behind the double roller
timing chain is a thrust bearing to help the cam rev smoother. all new
bearings throughout. clevette 77 oil pump
i sold it a year later for 1,500. the guy i sold it to says it still does
not leak a drop of oil even after 4-5 years.
