How To Build a Chevy 383 Stroker - Part 1: Block & Crank
This is a new multi part series on how to assemble a small block Chevy 383
stroker motor (actually it is an internal combustion engine - "motors" are
electric - but I digress LOL).
MOST of the assembly applies to any small block engine. I have divided up
the assembly procedure into many parts so you can skip to the specific part
you are looking for, i.e: crank, camshaft, timing chain or how to adjust
This whole series was shot by myself with my iPhone so presenting, filming
and assembling could all be done smoother but "ir-regardless" I hope it
PS - For those of you who who did NOT get the joke and are taking the
"engine" and "motor" thing WAYYY too seriously, here are a couple
instructional aides to help you figure out why you have no sense of
humor.... also I would never use "ir-regardless" in proper English.
Thank you. Shannon http://www.corvettesandcustoms.org

Chevy 350 Engine Rebuild Part 4
Cam, Timing Set, Front main seal, and Timing Cover Install. This is part 4
of a multi-part series on the rebuilding of this engine. Thanks for
1972 Nova 383 Street Strip
Second pass after driving it to the track and same plugs been in the motor
since this time last year around Feb 12. Engine has 3000 street miles on
it. First pass it spun as I didn't heat the tires good for the very first
pass. Tires are MT Drag Radials. Car ran email@example.com w/1.673 - 60' time.
Didn't change a thing on the car but make 2 runs. Next time I will pull 2
degrees timing and then play with the carb. Carb is an 850 Quickfuel.
Engine is a 383 (10.7 compression), Lunati Voodoo hyd. roller(560/565 -
243/251@.050"), AFR 195 heads, 4.10 w/Eaton posi and 30 spine Mosers. Stall
is a 4100 with a turbo 350 trans..
383 Stroker 500HP+ rebuilt
a few days after everything was finished (old 383 Stroker with stock iron
heads)the engine blew up with a broken piston.I will post a video about
that later. Luckily the Engine-Block didn't suffer any damage and after
disassembly of the whole motor it was the perfect 4-Bolt base for a real
500+ HP 383 Stroker. This time I wanted serious horsepower!
So here we go, over 4.700$ in parts later...assembly is finished and right
now the motor waits for going back into the Truck. Still a lot of other
stuff to do at the Truck, but I think the Motor will be in the Truck
running, in about 4-5 Weeks.

How to Install an Edelbrock Carburator on Chevy 350 Engine by Howstuffinmycarworks
In this video Chris explains how to install a 750 cfm Edelbrock carburetor
on a Chevy 350 Engine. This particular engine sits in a Chevy S-10 Pick-up.
The Engine has 11 1/2 Compression ratio and it produces 450 horsepower at the wheels, it
has a long duration and high lift camshaft profile that makes it very fuel
thirsty. A 750 cfm carb is perfect for this engine straight out of the box
without needing any modifications.
We normally run 110 octane race fuel on this Engine when we drive it
locally or at the race track.
When we take it on long trips and we don't want to deal with the hassle of
transporting fuel we retard the timing 5 degrees and we run 95 octane pump
gas, to avoid blowing the Engine up we keep the RPM's at 6,000 when
running the truck on 95 octane pump gas.
Visit the tool section in our online store, we have all the tools that were
used in the video available at very low prices:
