Formula One at Road America
Here is an onboard video from the 2012 KIC at Road America. The car is a 1997 Jordan with with a Judd engine instead of the Peugeot that it used in the actual Grand Prix. This was our first weekend with with the car and were astounded with the performance. There were a few bugs as expected but we got everything worked out. In front of me is my dad running a Benetton F1 from the same year, with the same engine. Keep in mind this is not a professional event, nor am I a professional driver. The only goal was to have fun and keep the car in once piece. Enjoy!

1957 Devin Special Vintage Race Car All Aluminum Buick V8
1957 Devin Special for sale! The "Gary Special", S-71527 racer purpose built at Devin's El Monte, CA location. Raced in California by Don McQuilken, and later by Donald Shaw in Canada. Has had a complete body off restoration. The engine is a race built Buick 215 alloy V8 engine running 10:1 compression, aluminum radiator, Edelbrock carburetor, Offenhauser intake and valve covers running to an aluminum T-10 4 speed manual transmission with a hydraulic clutch. All inner body panels and firewall are aluminum. Reupholstered aluminum seats, new interior and carpet. Rack and pinion steering, front disc brakes, quick release steering wheel, rear aluminum finned drum brakes, coil over front suspension, and leaf springs in the rear connecting to the highly modified TR chassis. New Dayton wire wheels with knock offs wrapped in BF Goodrich radial performance tires, and turn signals for road use. Thanks for taking a look! The "Gary Special" was race purpose built at the Devin, El Monte, CA location with the assistance of James Gary, Esq. The car was entered in the 1957 Concours d'Elegance and participated in several California races in 1957. The car was featured in several Devin ads. Following the 1957 season, the car was sold to Donald Shaw in Ontario, Canada. Shaw raced the car through several seasons. At some point, the car was re-powered with a race purpose built Buick 215. This is a complete body-off restoration. The engine was completely rebuilt to original specs, but de-tuned from CR 12.7/1 to 10/1. Aluminum radiator, electric fan with aluminum shroud, Edelbrock carb., aluminum Offenhauser intake and valve covers. Hydraulic clutch, aluminum T-10 four-speed transmission. All inner panels and firewall are aluminum. Body was undamaged. Original 72-spoke wires with Pirellis (available) were replaced with new chrome knock-off Daytons and BFG performance tires. Aluminum seats reupholstered, new interior and carpet. Steering column replaced with Ididit, quick-release steering wheel, turn signals for road use. Rack and pinion steering, front disc brakes, rear finned aluminum drum brakes. Coil-over front suspension and leaf spring on highly modified TR chassis. Prior to completion, car was shown at 2011 Detroit Autorama, 4th Place and St. Johns Concours d'Elegance 2011. 1966 McLaren M1B (Can-Am) @ Val de Vienne
L'essai sur circuit d'une Mac-Laren est un moment rare. Celle-là est une Mac-Laren M1B, fabriquée en 1966 dans les ateliers Elva, qui avaient obtenu l'autorisation de Bruce Mac-Laren de construire quelques voitures clients (une trentaine). Il faut savoir qu'à cette époque les ateliers Mac-Laren n'avaient pas la capacité de fabriquer autant de voitures... Le moteur est un Chevrolet V8 à carter sec, d'environ 5 litres de cylindrée et monté en position centrale arrière. Le châssis est d'architecture tubulaire. La B.V. est une Hewland à 5 rapports. Sur le circuit, la voiture se révèle très sportive, avec un couple phénoménal, une bonne tenue de route et une accélération impressionnante pour une voiture de 1966. Seul le freinage, un peu limité, replace cette voiture de course bien dans son époque. Le dessin de la carrosserie, très sexy, ressemble à s'y méprendre à celui d'une barquette de la fin des années cinquante. Cette McLaren M1B , après de bons réglages sera, sans aucun doute, redoutable sur les plateaux historiques. Quelques tours sur le circuit du Vigeant vont vous permettre de la découvrir ...
