How to Check Engine OBD2 Codes on Jeep Grand Cherokee (1999-2010)
This is a short instructional video on how to check the "Check Engine" OBD2 engine codes. Turn the ignition on three times in a row simultaneously and the diagnostic trouble codes should appear on the odometer. If there are no codes it will say "done" immediately. If not, the codes will appear one by one on the odometer until it says "done."
Keep in mind, that codes can stay on the computer for a long time even if the "Check Engine" light is not on (like in this video). To reset the codes disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and then reconnect it.
After retrieving the codes, look them up on http://www.wjjeeps.com/faultcodes.htm, which has every single code possible.

***Make sure you cover up the PCM and the alternator***
It isn't necessary to tape up the electrical wires, but I did it just incase since the Jeep is 11 years old. After you cleaned up the engine and dried up what needed to be dry take off all the tape and unwrap the plastic from the PCM and alternator and start up the engine for a good 5 minutes and your complete!
