This video is from the Viper Racing League Invitational Race at Miller Motorsports Park. What makes it interesting is the Whelen Engineering Rolex GT car piloted by Eric Curran as well as 3 other Whelen Rolex and World Challenge cars were entered. Eric's car had a mechanical DNF on Saturdays race but he lit up the track on Sunday. However, the SMS Corvette won the Saturday race and was 1st in qualifying so all that was needed on Sunday was to finish ahead of the Vipers to get the overall win. This video is from the start with a reverse order grid. (slowest cars first)

2013 NASA Pro Racing National Championships
On board the SMS/JDP Motorsports C5 Corvette during the start of the 2013 NASA Pro Racing National Championships. Due to a bogus "passing under yellow" penalty (later proven by video to be incorrect) the SMS/JDP Corvette climbs through the field from 20th to 3rd overall and first in class to take the NASA 2013 Super Touring national championship.

Viper Racing League - 8/29/09 - Texas World Speedway
This is my first race with the Viper Racing League (Viper Days/NARRA) at Texas World Speedway on Saturday 8/29/09. We have a rolling start with a pace car and ran 12 laps for about 30 minutes. I edited this video from the 30 minute race down to 10 minutes so it would fit within the YouTube! time limit. We also had a 26 lap inverted race on Sunday for about 50 minutes but my camera messed up and I only got the first lap and it shut off. Anyway, I came in 3rd place in both races behind the World Challenge competition coupes which are much faster and have better drivers. I was extremely happy to come in 3rd. In this race, I started out in the 3rd row inside and managed to get behind Tom in his white/blue comp coupe. I chased him most of the race just waiting for a mistake. He began losing his tires and I managed to stick my nose in on turn 13. He was gracious and let me by but could have easily kept me from passing. We were pretty even the whole race and it was tons of fun. Thanks, Tom! The next race is Roebling Road in Georgia and then off to Daytona on the Rolex Series course.





Corvette races Porsche at Miller Motorsports Park
SMS C5 Corvette battles GT3RS Porsche during MPRA race #11, Miller Motorsports Park. Though not in the same race class as the Porsche, the Corvette battles to stay with the Porsche on the outer-loop at MMP. Good racing action from inside the Corvette.

Viper Racing League - Inverted 1-hour race - MSR Cresson - Rogue ACR-X
This is part of a 1-hour Viper Racing League inverted race. The inverted race is where the faster qualifying cars start toward the back and the slower qualifying cars start toward the front. Since I have only 10 minutes for a youtube video, there's simply no way to show the whole race. So, I have a few snippets here only but you'll get the idea. :)

Corvette at MMP SCCA Regional
Les Long's Porsche GT3R charges through the field at the Rocky Mountain SCCA Regional to challenge the pole sitting SMS C5 Corvette. Even though the Porsche is on race tires and the Corvette is on DOT tires, the Vette hangs on for the win.





NARRA - USGTC - Saturday Race @ Texas World Speedway, Sept 3, 2011
This is the start and the first few laps of the Saturday race. Fun start, potentially fun race, but about halfway in, my right rear tire started losing air due to a bad O-ring in the valve stem. I tried to hang on until the finish of the race and then less than 2 laps from the end, I lost all power and coasted to a stop off the track. I had to be towed in. I sat in the car for maybe 15 minutes until getting towed and it was 143 degrees in the car. Ugh... I didn't get to race on Sunday because Archer and Dodge were unable to identify the problem. Fortunately, it was a short drive back to DFW from TWS.





Laguna Seca SCCA Regional
After 10 years away, SMS Racing returns to Laguna Seca Raceway. Slick track conditions and cold DOT tires make the first few laps pretty dicey, but the SMS C5 Corvette still presses for the lead..........
