1960 Dodge D100 Short Bed Pickup - SOLD
This 1960 Dodge pickup is a 2nd owner low mile California truck. It is a
rare, short bed with a 318-V-8, a 3 speed manual transmission, and has a
newly rebuilt carburetor and fuel pump. The original owner purchased this
truck in San Francisco in 1960 upon his retirement and drove it locally in
Novato, CA until he passed away. Our seller (the 2nd owner) purchased the
truck from his widow and it has only been in the Northwest that past couple
It starts right up, the bed is in good condition, it has twin headlights,
good curved glass, original spare tire, original rubber parts, it does not
leak any fluids, it has the original factory green color and good interior,
it has never been wrecked, has a 12 volt system, wipers, the tail gate is
not rusted, it has good curved glass, the door locks work as new and the
This truck is as it was originally with the exception of dual Exhaust which was added in 1986. Since it is an
original early California truck, it has no heater, no factory seat belts,
no radio and no headliner. You could add them, but the truck is as is all
stock and original. Our seller used it for an occasional driver. The
original California license plates and a pile of tags exist but it is
currently titled in Oregon.
This is a great example of a 1960 Dodge short bed pickup. Granted there is
a little pitting on the chrome, but it's a 52 year old truck. It looks
good, it sits tall, it runs with a nice size V-8 engine, is a work horse
and it has a history.
With only 35,252 overall senior miles, it has been newly serviced, drives
well and is ready to roll! If you are looking for a classic, good looking
dependable truck, this is the truck for you!

FARGO FL 4-60. 1946.mod. Chrysler engine. 6.cyl. 95.hp.
Fargo was a brand of truck manufactured and sold in Canada by the Chrysler
Corporation. Fargo trucks were almost identical to Dodge trucks, save for
trim and name, and were sold by Chrysler-Plymouth dealers. Production began
in the late 1920s.
The name Fargo was discontinued after 1972 for Canada, but lived longer for
other countries around the world under the Chrysler Corporation's badge
engineering marketing approach. Most of the Fargo trucks and bus chassis
sold in Argentina, Finland, Australia, India, and other countries in Europe
and Asia were made in Chrysler's Kew (UK) plant. Most were also sold under
the Dodge and Commer names.
Theories on why Chrysler used the name Fargo include the imagery of open
range of the American west, symbolized by the city of Fargo and the
Wells-Fargo stage lines, while another theory assumes there was a play on
the words "Far" and "Go" denoting durability.

The 1964 Dodge D-100 joined the Cherry Bomb family when it was spotted in a
barn down in Georgia and bought for just $300. After cleaning out all the
dirt they turned this truck into the ultimate hot rod. They dropped a Mopar
528 Hemi 650 hp engine with a Tremec T-60 60 6 speed Viper transmission.
The drivetrain was installed by Matt Delaney of Delaney Automotive and a
vintage Cherry Bomb patina style logo by Brian Papa Studios. Stacey David
of Gearz added a ladder bar style rear suspension, and added Radir and
Coker tires to give it a nice vintage look. 2009 sema award winner.
This as a really cool opportunity to own a piece of TV hot rod history.
