Mallory Park Modsports & Supersaloons 290811
Movie I made at the CSCC Modsports and Super Saloons Revival Challenge
meeting at Mallory Park on 29/08/2011. Features;
Jeff Wilson and his team fettle the ex-Mick Hill VW Bug V8, they never did
solve the problem causing a viscous weave underbraking. David Tetley and
his crew warm the "Stars and Stripes" Opel Manta 400-Pontiac V8; Thomas
Carey warming the Imp Californian; Bill Richards warming his Rover Metro;
Bernie Chodosh warming his Chevy Corvette; Joss Ronchetti in the Sunbean
Talbot Lotus. Then out for practice, footage from session two. Then lunch
and the rain comes down, first race is a wet start, Mike Wilds in Daf-ne
takes off, Pete Edwards comes through in the Escort Mk2 class-B
Thundersaloon to take the win on a greasy track. Race two is much faster, Simon Allaway (lotus Silouette) and
Pete Stevens (Sertec Carlton TS) having a real battle. Michael Bell the the
"Lairy Canary" Escort has a big moment, Lee Costello in the other black
Escort (V8 power in this one) comes through before it throws the cooling
belt. Unfortunately the camera stopped then, just as the fun was really
Mallory Park, return of the Thundersaloons June 2011
What a morning! Baby Bertha, the Stars and Stripes Manta, the DAF V8, cars
that were at their hayday, faster
and noisier than any other saloons being raced. This gathering was a test &
press day for the drivers and cars, in preparation for their comeback
meeting on the August bank holiday weekend.
Thundersaloons Race at Castle Combe 1990
A superb lead battle between the awesome Pontiac V8 powered Sierra "Black
Thunder" of Cox and Farmer and the similarly V8 powered Honda Legend of
Nicholls & Woolf at the fast and bumpy Castle Combe circuit. The third
placed "Vauxhall Senator" is a re-badged 5 litre Holden Commodore VK which
had been raced at Bathurst by Peter Brock. A much missed class of racing

Test Drive the 1974 Ford Capri V8!
Hi! This is Agent 8771's 1974 Ford Capri, featuring a high-output 302 V8
and Borg-Warner T5 transmission hooked to a Ford 9 inch positraction rear.
This car originally had the wheezy Pinto 2000 cc engine and 4 speed trans,
so it is much better now. A nice, original, rust-free unit brought up from
the States to save it from the recyclers yard. Sweet vintage aluminum slot
mags, nerf bars, and diamond-tuft package tray finish this Capri off in
classic 70's style! Hope you like it as much as I do!
