DAMN!Nice Mazda Rx-7 startup / idle ....First start up after winter...
Nothing special here.
Just the video of the first startup of "Ayumi" after she was stripped down for a half year.
As you can see, a beautiful fast startup for a rotary engine, sitting for 5months.
More videos are coming during the season.

Deleted Scenes from 3 Rotor RX-7 filming
People have asked for various footage from the 20b video. Here are some
humorous outtakes and the flybys without music played over them. Ill warn
you, the audio wasn't the best, that's why I played the song. haha

DAMN!Nice Rx-7 FD rotary engine disassembly
disassembly of my 13B-REW out of my car (Ayumi ;-))
enjoy the 2 day journey into the rotary engine...
Don´t be confused by the neighbours stepping by. They were just confused
that this little thing makes such a big noise! :-)
And yes. As you can see. the eccentric shaft bolt was a pain in the ass.
Make sure you have the right (strong) tools if you want to loosen it!
We broke three tools!!

RE Amemiya Super Greddy 7 RE20B RX-7 FD3S
This RE Amemiya Super Greddy 7 RE20B was built for the annual Tokyo Auto
Salon. This exquisite machine is packed with RE Amemiya's tuning knowledge
and is setup for the street.
The intent of the vehicle is of course, running the Wangan highway. The
machine was designed to easily reach high speeds and provide unmatched
stability at 300km/h. This makes 300km/h seem like leisurely cruise.
The three rotor 20B engine was removed from a Mazda Cosmo. It is fairly
easy for RE Amemiya to build a 300km/h engine, and it can be done with a
13B. Then why choose a 20B? The 13B is notoriously known to have a short
life span, especially after it has been modified. Also, it lacks the low
end torque, and it does not hold the power to leisurely reach, and cruise
at 300km/h like the 20B.
Therefore, the 20B was chosen, and the low end torque demise was solved.
But even though it's a rotary engine, doesn't mean that it is a easy swap.
The weight distribution of the well balanced FD becomes thrown off. The 20B
had to be offset 10cm to the rear and 6cm to the front in reference to the
13B. Also, the body, subframe, and the propeller shaft all need
The exterior was dressed up with the RE Amemiya 2006 model Aero kit. It
consists of a Porsche 997 front headlights, and the rotary themed rear
bumper. The sides consist of super wide fenders to accentuate the whole
The vehicle was completed just in time for the first ever Pre Tokyo Auto
Salon event held in the United States. The vehicle then will be shipped off
in time for the real 2006 Tokyo Auto Salon event in Tokyo.

1985 Mazda RX7 SP, winter start up
The temp.. gage is not hooked up I am using an after market one so stop
commenting about not being warm
My 85, RX7 starting up in the cold cold canadian winter...
First start of a new (Not Remanufactured) Mazda 13b twin turbo engine in a 1995 RX-7
This engine block was in a group of engines found in New Zealand.
It is a -NEW- engine from Mazda, and contains ALL new parts.
Prior to my use, it was only fired using propane in the Mazda factory
(Probably in the years 1999-2001).
This is NOT a remanufactured engine.
It contains NO USED PARTS!
Rob Golden of Pinapple Racing became aware of it's existance while I was
having an engine built to replace the one that blew a water seal several
months earlier, and gave me the option of using this instead.
Rob even took care to retain all the original Mazda paint and factory
inspection marks on the housings and plates.
Pineapple Racing dissasembled the engine, upgraded it with their
proprietary water and oil seals, lightly ported the intake openings to
balance a lean/rich imbalance condition between rotors that is typical of
the 3rd Generation 13B engines.
We replaced the 1st catalytic converter with a downpipe, and it still
passed emissions with NO problem. (frankly the attendant was shocked at how
clean it burned)
There is no additional exahaust noise.
No tinny pinging sound like you get on many thin-walled aftermarket Exhaust systems.
However I can hear the turbos MUCH more
clearly, as their whine passes through the downpipe quite well. (very
The car still can be maintained using the factory service manual, in spite
of all the modifications.
All the measurements in the Factory Manual are still the same ones you use
on this engine.
The engine was installed at Five Star tuning here in Atlanta, where Mike
Reed took meticulous care in ensuring everything was right. (Lord knows I
was an annoying nag, but he did a great job!)
If you need Mazda (or any import) work done in the Atlanta area, I highly
reccommend Five Star!
These modifications and special seals are all the product of the research
at Pineapple Racing, where engine uber-geniuses, (Blake Qually and Rob
Golden) have built a reputation of high quality rotary engine building and
Blake is no longer with us, and we miss him terribly, but Rob is doing an
excellent job of carrying on the work, and this engine is just one small
example of it.
