It's practically a foregone conclusion that mass-market cars have to be boring. All that's expected is a reliable and fuel-efficient machine that can go from point A to point B with minimal fuss. The 2013 Nissan Altima, debuting at the 2012 New York Auto Show, aims to change this perception of the boring midsize car with a stylish new look coupled with comfort and efficiency, plus technologies that entertain even if you are just slogging along on your daily commute. 2013 Nissan Altima Already known for having a little more pep than the category benchmarks like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, the new 2013 Altima marches forward with two available powerplants: the 2.5-liter dohc 16-valve 4-cylinder rated at 182 horsepower and 180 lb.-ft. of torque, or the 3.5-liter dohc 24-valve V-6 rated at 270 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines are mated to Nissan's latest-generation Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) redesigned with 40 percent less friction, and an extended ratio spread to allow for better standing-start acceleration and quieter highway cruising. Fuel economy for the 4-cylinder is projected to be 27 mpg city/38 mpg highway; for the V-6, 22 mpg city/30 mpg highway. For the latest Nissan Altima pricing, reviews and vehicle information: http://www.kbb.com/nissan/altima/2013-nissan-altima/ Mid-size sedan leaders like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry get a lot of attention but Nissan's Altima also sells in surprisingly big numbers. In fact, Nissan sells more Altima's than anything else. But they would love to sell even more and this 5th generation Altima sedan is how they plan to do just that. 2013 Nissan Altima - Manufacturing - B-Roll
After taking on supercars and the streets of Dubai in Desert Nemesis, Lucas Ordonez is back in Europe -- but this isn't the Spanish sunshine he's used to. Revved up and ready to go, Lucas and the Nissan Juke-R have to get a grip on the Losna Isbane Ice Track. Juke-R to inject new excitement into the crossover market •Juke and GT-R brought together to create the ultimate compact crossover •One-off concept to test the public's reaction to a seriously sporty Juke •Underlines the compact crossover's fun factor •Fully road legal with GT-R drive train •Developed for Nissan by RML with input from Nissan Technical Centre for Europe (NTC-E) •Car currently in development; expected to complete first tests in November Question: What do you get when you cross a Nissan Juke with a Nissan GT-R? Answer: The fastest, most exciting and daring compact crossover in the world. Not content with re-shaping the new car market by pioneering the crossover -- a success reflected in the soaring sales of its Qashqai and Juke models -- Nissan is now creating the Juke-R, the first ever super crossover. Currently under development, the bold design of the Juke is clear to see. However, with the addition of flared wheel arches, revised front and rear bumpers plus a unique split rear wing, this is no standard crossover. It's a Juke that thinks it's a GT-R, and with good reason. However, the car is not for production. It is a one-off, road legal concept car developed by Nissan and built by leading motorsports outfit RML with input from Nissan Technology Centre for Europe (NTC-E). Under the hood is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine adopted directly from Nissan's flagship supercar. Under the floor hides the GT-R's six-speed transaxle, with the front and rear ends joined by a modified GT-R 4WD driveline and prop shaft, while chunky 20-inch RAYS forged alloy rims fill each wheel arch. The interior merges crossover and supercar with finesse, as the Juke's dashboard has been transformed to accommodate the gauges, dials and 7-inch customisable LCD display from the GT-R. The Juke's iconic center console, inspired by the fuel tank of a motorcycle, remains while the rest of the interior has the look of a machine bred for the track. Twin race-seats with five-point harnesses sit inside a visible roll cage that gives FIA safety standards as well as enhanced rigidity to provide the ultimate performance. "Nissan Juke is one of the most exciting cars on the market today. Its bold crossover design has captured the imagination of car buyers all over Europe; after just a year on sale we are celebrating sales of more than 100,000 units," said Paul Willcox, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Nissan in Europe. "Juke lends itself perfectly to a sports derivative and Juke-R explores that territory. Equally at home on road and track, Juke-R showcases two of the most exciting cars in our range and highlights the technical innovation that drives Nissan. This car will more than live up to the dynamic driving experience we engineer into all our cars."

2013 Nissan Altima Test Drive & Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/nissan/altima/2013/ Nissan calls the 2013 Altima the most innovative Altima ever as this model represents the 5th generation. Practically every facet of the car has been upgraded for the better from the more stylish exterior, to the smooth design and finish of the interior; the Altima looks to distance itself from the pack in a very competitive sedan segment. The 2013 Nissan Altima comes in 7 different trim levels with the base 2.5 sedan costing $21,500. The fully loaded 3.5 SL tops out at $30,080. On the outside the first thing you notice about the 2013 Nissan Altima is the body lines which look more like Nissan's luxury line Infiniti. There are chrome accents everywhere and the rear LED taillights are hard to miss. The body and chassis are lighter thanks in part to the use of aluminum. The overall drag coefficient of the 2013 Nissan Altima was also reduced which in turn helps lower fuel consumption. The interior of the 2013 Nissan Altima is quite spacious for a mid size sedan. The materials used are very high quality and the interior features are nicely laid out. Again the Altima seems to take a que from the Infiniti design line. There are 2 different engines options. The first is a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 182 horsepower and 180 lb-ft. of torque. The Altima might seem a bit low in the power department but with the Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission, Nissan thinks the 2013 Altima will net 38 MPG on the highway making it one of the most fuel efficient sedans on the road. The other engine choice is a 3.5 liter V-6 that produces 270 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. Driving dynamics are much improved as the rear suspension now consists of a multilink setup based on the 370Z sports car. The ZF Sachs shock absorbers are more commonly found on high end luxury cars from Europe. The 2013 Nissan Altima has a trick Active Understeer Control System which keeps the driver in control. Understeer is eliminated by the computer as brake pressure is applied to the inside wheel automatically. The 2013 Nissan Altima comes loaded with a bunch of standard features. The seats have been redesigned and test to improve posture and reduce fatigue. There is an Advanced Display which makes it easy for the driver to get vehicle information and navigation instructions. The Altima comes standard with Nissan's safety shield which adds over 50 features including a Lane Departure Warning System, Blind Spot Warning System, and Moving Object Detection System.
