RaceLegal, the safer and sanctioned track alternative to illegal street racing, was developed with one goal in mind. Saving the needless loss of young lives to an illegal street race gone bad is RaceLegal’s mantra. To that end we have been remarkably effective. The concept was one of providing a youth oriented environment in a neutral and centrally located location where we could replicate a street environment, but with safer and sanctioned conditions that insured the safety of our racers and their fans. The under pinning is one of skillfully redirecting illegal street racing behavior to the safer and sanctioned sport of drag racing in a youth oriented setting. 1988 Trans Am GTA vs 2012 Optima SX Turbo
I went out and tested just how lame my torque management is on this new Kia. I have two really big problems. One is the delayed throttle response. Even if I mash the gas on the 2nd honk it won't even be WOT yet by the 3rd honk. Just rolls an inch or two in the meantime. So this makes your consistency fly out the window. Of course your natural reaction is to just stall the bitch up totally eliminating the delayed throttle. WRONG. If the ECU senses any form of engine stalling (brake Boosting) it will cut Boost and turn your car into a complete turd. We're talking over a full second difference. Anyway here are my struggles while racing a 36,000 mile GTA with bumped timing. Probably a mid-14 second car. As you can see it's extremely hard to find that sweet spot.
