What does it take to create the perfect Nissan Journey to the Grid recipe?
1.Visit the Nismo factory in Japan and bring back the biggest V8 engine possible, the same engines that powers the 2013 Nissan Patrol;
2.Add blood, sweat and tears as the chassis and panels are made for the V8 Supercar version of the Nissan Altima, creating a test car for track;
3.Repeat steps 1 and 2 four times to create the team;
4.Add four world class drivers (T.Kelly, R.Kelly, M.Caruso and J.Moffat) and sponsors;
5.Serve a Clipsal 500 to begin the 2013 V8 Supercar Championship for the ultimate Nissan Motorsport experience.

50psi boost 1200+hp Nissan RB30 - Ethanol E98
Nissan RB30 SOHC 3L engine built and tuned by JPC making over 1200hp on Ethanol fuel. The engine still retains a factory block and crank. Improvements come from a custom JPC turbocharger, manifolding, roller rockers and cam gear. Fuel is fed via ID2000cc injectors and an Autronic computer system.
This engine has previously run 8.79 at 160.25mph (with less power) in a full weight (3250lb) Holden VL commodore through stock suspension, Powerglide transmission, 9in rear end and 28x9in slicks.

End of V8 Supercar Era - Introduction of COTF
The 2012 Sydney Telstra 500 signalled the end of the first era of V8 Supercars, which started way back at the 1992 Sandown 500. With the end of the current regulations, new cars are to be introduced for 2013.
