In the skies above West Sussex not one but two Second World War Lancaster bombers thundered past with a Spitfire escort, while 1950s jet aircraft like the Canberra and Hunter swooped fast and low over the heads of spectators. As ever though, the Revival was about more than just high-speed machinery. Thousands of visitors to the annual event sported vintage clothing as they perused period details included faithful recreations of the Earls Court Motor Show, the 1954 Monza pit lane and the Hooper coachbuilders trim-shop.
