almost hit one of the crew's vehicles after it flies off.
General Lee Destroyed by Fire - Fifteen Years of Fun - Part 1
Visit www.mygenerallee.com for updates....
My wife is the major contributor to this inspirational video to rebuild the
General Lee. The fire started inside the house from a sump pump
malfunction. The pump kicked on when there was no water in the sump pump
hole and ran so long that it caught on fire. The fire then traveled up the
ejection pipe and caught the staircase that the pump was under on fire,
then spread into the hallway, living room, and garage. What the fire
didn't destroy, the intense heat and smoke did, including the entire second
level of the house. We were out of town when it started.
John Schneider awaits final bid on General Lee
John Schneider decided to sell his beloved and famous 1969 orange Dodge
Charger made famous as "General Lee" on his Dukes of Hazzard TV show and as
"Traveler" in our movie COLLIER & CO.--HOT PURSUIT!.
At the moment of this video, the bidding hit nearly $10 million, making the
car the second highest vehicle auction price ever, and it became the
highest bid ever on eBay.
This is video of John as he awaited the close of this tense auction.
COLLIER & CO.--HOT PURSUIT! is now available on Amazon at
The General Lee Video
I was just there again in January 2012, and saw that they've move the car
across the street... It's now sitting on the ground at a street corner on
the other side of Hwy 11W from where it originally was at the store. It
looks like they gave it a paint job too, and restored all the faded colors.
Now there's an old wrecker truck sitting on the ramps in front of the
store where this used to sit.
Stopped in Churchill, TN and saw one of the original General Lee stunt cars
from the Dukes of Hazard. It's pretty beat up. It's neat to see one of my
childhood icons up close and personal!
