Although the official launch won't be until fall, Kawasaki Japan has unveiled photos of the re-designed 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 250R, the bike taking much styling from its older sibling, the Kawasaki ZX-10R. Since its inception in 1983, the Kawasaki Ninja 250 R has been the leader in entry-level sportbikes. But when Honda released the CBR250R stateside in 2011, competition intensified in the quarter-liter segment, leaving Kawasaki under pressure to remain the dominate player. One huge feature the Honda has over the Kawasaki is fuel injection, an item Kawasaki kept from the Ninja 250 R to keep the price below $4,500. But according to Kawasaki Japan, fuel injection will be offered, though its unknown if it will be available on stateside models. Another big option on the 2013 250 R Ninja will be optional ABS, which will add four pounds to the base weight of 379 lbs. Otherwise, besides the more aggressive look, Kawasaki Japan confirms the Ninja will receive a new DOHC parallel-twin engine with upgraded pistons, crank case and cylinders. The colors available in Japan are Lime Green, Lime Green/Ebony, Ebony, Ebony Metallic Moondust Grey, Passion Red, Passion Red Stardust White, and Pearl Stardust White. As for MSRP, nothing was released, but the 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250R costs $4,199-$4,499.

Secara desain Kawasaki New Ninja 250R berubah total. Kini bentuknya makin mirip sang kakak Ninja ZX-6R/ZX10R, kalau enggak percaya coba tengok bentuk head lamp multi reflector-nya. Dua lampu yang didesain split ini terlihat makin sporty. Masih soal lampu, sein depan kini menyatu dengan bodi, sedang yang belakang nemplok di sepatbor yang ukurannya mungil, selain sporty desain ini masih ada benang merah dengan buntut Ninja ZX-10R. Desain menarik lainnya adalah panel indikator barunya. Takometer ada di tengah ditampilkan dalam bentuk analog. Sedang speedometernya kini digital, lengkap dengan odometer, pilihan trip, indikator bahan bakar, suhu dan jam. Informasi lain seperti indikator sein, lampu jauh, fuel injection juga ditata apik disekitar takometer. Turun ke kaki-kaki, pasti bakal kaget dengan bentuk pelek terbarunya. Ukuran ban juga lebar, kini depan 110/70--17 M/C dan yang belakang pakai 140/70--17 M/C. Sedikit lebih lebar dari ukuran sebelumnya. Dekat roda ada silincer knalpot, desain barunya lebih pendek tapi memiliki cover yang tak kalah keren. Dan indonesia menjadi negara yang pertama didunia launching new ninja 250 fi, kenapa indonesia, karna rupanya pihak Kawasaki Jepang sangat bangga dengan respon maupun angka penjualan Ninja 250R yang hadir di Indonesia sejak tahun 2008 yang lalu. Konon angka penjualan Ninja 250R ini yang tertinggi di dunia adalah di Indonesia. "Angka penjualan Ninja 250R di Indonesia mencapai 40% dari penjualan seluruh dunia. Persentasi ini bahkan mengalahkan negara Brazil yang berada di posisi ke dua. In this vlog I talk about the pro's and con's of the ninja 250. This is one of the most common beginner questions and the two main points I like to get across are; 1.) The 250 has ample power for a new rider INCLUDING highway speeds. 2.) The 250 is limited in braking power (2up) and lacks super quick acceleration. *Sometimes super quick acceleration can keep you out of harms way, however that same quickness can also kill or seriously injure you. The best way to choose a bike is to visit the dealerships and sit on all the bikes you like to find a good fit, and then do a honest assessment of yourself. Are you mature and trained enough for the power?, or are you inexperienced and a little on the show off side? 125cc up to a 650cc bikes can be good starter choices depending on the individual. Super-sport 600cc to 1000cc bikes are not a good choice for most beginners. Yes that's right a 650cc has less power than a super-sport 600cc. Research is key new riders.
