Chevy Big Block 454 Engine Starting

I recently built this 454. It is mostly stock with the exception of Eagle 4 bolt main cap conversion and ARP studs. Some of the internals include GM 8:1 pistons on 3/8 rods, GM cast crank, .030 bore, GM/Mercruiser cam (same as used in 454/330hp Merc. engine), double roller timing set, and small oval port heads with bronze guides. Everything in the engine is brand new and as I said in the video, it would make a sweet street rod, pickup, boat or even garden tractor engine.

1951 Chevy Pickup 454 Big Block "SOLD" Drager's International Classic Sales 206-533-9600
This is a frame off restoration. Now has 153 miles on restoration and I have driven over 100 miles Big block 454 Chevy engine that is rebuilt. turbo 400 transmission. Mustang II front suspension. 11" power disc brakes on the front. Power steering. Tilt steering column. Camero rear end. The frame is boxed in the front. It really looks good. Nice two-tone paint. Chrome grill. Chrome front bumper. Lowered in the front. The wood bed looks good but not showy. Late-model painted rear bumper that gives it a nice look. I think you'll like the interior. I drove this pickup over and back from Old School Garage and it's a great driver. Has highway gearing which works well with this big block, otherwise you would be spinning the tires all the time. Joe found the radiator had problems so he is installing a brand-new 4 core aluminum radiator with a electric cooling fan. We had the seat reupholstered and matching door panels, it looks great. I did not like the gas pedal so Joe found a better solution. The carpets were cut up so we installed new carpeting. This is a good-looking truck and everyone gives you the thumbs up. Gravely "The king of two wheelers"
My son's Christmas present. A 1968 Gravely Com 10, fully restored with a Kohler K-341. Ported, valves relieved and 3 angle seat cut, .020 bore, .040 cut from head, reworked carb and custom Exhaust. The crank was also detailed and shotpeened. I installed an 8 gear differential, 30 amp alternator, all stainless and grade 8 bolts, and headlights. I grew up with these tractors and their tough as nails. I'm glad to pass on a truely American built, legendary machine to my son.

This is the 454 LS-7 Big Block Chevy I have owned since '91. Stock bore, steel "990" heads, .710 lift Comp Solid Roller Cam, Brodix aluminum ported intake, 1350 cfm Holley Dominator, Comp. Hooker Headers. These motors come from the factory with 12.5 pistons, steel crank, 4-bolt mains, and the best of everything. The most "Bullet Proof" engine GM ever made. We rev it to 7000 rpm every shift. Best time was 9.78 @ 137mph in 1/4 and 6.16 @ 112mph in 1/8 mile. 3000 lb. car with driver. "Foot Breakin', NO electronics at all. No trans brake.
