This is an amateur video shot with an Iphone 4 by the driver who own this Audi 80. Dan has done more than 640 laps of the " Green Hell ". You can watch him overtaking quickly two Porsche 911 GT3 at the start (2'30) and chasing a red one at the end (7'50). Audi Quattro Extreme towed away at the Nürburgring !
On the 1st of November 2011, yd222 recorded this Audi Quattro Extreme at the famous gas station at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. There were some technical problems with the car so it had to be towed away. This Audi has a 4 cylinder turbo engine (no 5 cylinder!) that produces 450 - 500 bhp. On the Akademisches in Hockenheim this car killed all Porsches! Koenigsegg Norway also enjoyed this great event with their Official Test Car 7031 Streetfighter and the World Record Car Agera R. When the awesome 1115 HP Koenigsegg Agera R passed the pit lane on Döttinger Höhe on Thursday everyone was amazed by the speed of the car. Using the whole 3.5 kilometer straight, the Koenigsegg logged a "quite impressive" 401.6 km/h before braking before the bridge at Tiergarten. The Agera R has a normal Koenigsegg road setup, was driven on 98 oktan fuel and on standard Michelin Pilot tires. Audi 80 and Audi A4 history
The models in Audi's midsize class -- the Audi A4 and its predecessor, the Audi 80 -- constitute the heart of the brand. The company recently celebrated a true milestone in production. In early October, the ten millionth midsize Audi rolled off the assembly line: a Misano Red Audi S4 with a black and alabaster-white interior and a V6 engine generating 245 kW (333 hp) of output. "Ten million midsize vehicles is an achievement which makes us thrilled and proud," says Frank Dreves, Board Member for Production at AUDI AG. "Thanks to its sophisticated technology and excellent quality, the Audi A4 is our bestseller -- winning over customers in every market since it was launched. With our strong team and our effective Audi production system, we will continue writing this success story, especially as a modified version of the Audi A4 will soon be launched." Audi has been producing the A4 model family at its Ingolstadt site since 1994 and, since 2007, via the "production turntable" in Neckarsulm, as well. The Audi A4 sedan, the A4 Avant, the A4 allroad quattro, the S4 sedan, and the S4 Avant roll off the assembly line in Ingolstadt. A certain number of A4 sedan models are produced at the Neckarsulm site. "The Audi A4 family ensures that capacity utilization will remain high in the long term at our key plants in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm -- and therefore ensures job security," explains Peter Mosch, Chairman of the General Works Council at AUDI AG. He adds: "This success was made possible in large part by our Production colleagues, who utilize their extensive expertise, relentless devotion to top quality, and considerable commitment to build the Audi A4." Peter Kössler, Plant Manager in Ingolstadt, emphasizes: "The success story of the Audi A4 could not have been written here without the productivity and motivation of our Ingolstadt team. Work in Production becomes more complex all the time. We master this challenge by means of our streamlined processes and the expertise of our top team." Midsize Audi models are proven champions -- and have been for 39 years. Right from the very first Audi 80, launched in 1972, the brand with the four rings set new standards in lightweight design, performance, and agility. Four generations of the Audi 80 had been produced by 1994-95, when it was replaced by the Audi A4 -- which is currently in its fourth generation. The five millionth Audi A4 left the factory in March 2011. The extensive changes made recently make the Audi A4 more appealing than ever before. The sedan, the Avant, the allroad quattro, and the S4 models now feature technologies which make them even more efficient and sporty -- regarding the engines, chassis, and infotainment. New design modifications lend visible expression to progress. Midsize vehicles have always played the leading role at Audi -- and not just in terms of volume. Over the course of 39 years, they have embodied monumental innovations. The quattro drivetrain with a self-locking differential, fully galvanized vehicle bodies, S tronic, and the sport differential have demonstrated, time and again, Audi's commitment to Vorsprung durch Technik. The brand offered the Audi duo -- a hybrid model based on the Audi A4 Avant -- as long ago as 1997. Midsize Audi cars have displayed excellence in motorsport, as well. The midsize class is namely home to legendary rallye vehicles -- the Audi Rallye quattro and the Audi Sport quattro -- as well as superior circuit racing cars such as the Audi 90 quattro IMSA-GTO, the Audi 80 Competition, the Audi A4 quattro (STW), and the Audi A4 DTM. Audi's midsize class has always been ahead of the competition.





Dodge Viper Lap Record at Nürburgring : 7'12"13 (Motorsport)
Une rumeur annonçait que la Dodge Viper ACR avait battu le record de la Lexus LFA (7'14"64) sur la Nordschleife en 7'12"13. Aujourd'hui, la firme américaine confirme, vidéo à la clé. Pour rappel, la Viper ACR est une véritable voiture de course échappée des circuits avec son V10 de 612ch et 77,3 mk de couple, ses 1 533 kg et surtout ses suspensions et son aileron réglable. A l'occasion de ce record, l'équipe de SRT a très légèrement modifié la sportive utilisée. Le cinquième rapport a été raccourci (0,80 au lieu de 0 74) tandis que l'aileron a été redessiné pour améliorer l'aérodynamique. Le pilote de GT Dominik Farnbacher était aux commandes de la Viper ACR qui a réalisé le record le 14 septembre dernier. Quant à Ralph Gilles, président de SRT et de la division sport auto du groupe Chrysler, il s'est dit extrêmement fier de ce temps. La Viper ACR devient ainsi la quatrième auto la plus rapide sur le Nürburgring, juste derrière l'impressionnante Gumpert Apollo Sport (7'11"57).
