overlook the Pro Car we were paired with. This is the first run on our
bracket motor, Pontiac 400, stock stroke, stock rods stock bore, no NOS.
More to come. Thanks to all our friends and family for the support. This
car was built in 6 weeks with the help of my friends at Mountain Automotive

will be ready soon, that is the 1/4 mile motor, and we are still looking
for sponsors, lord willing the car should run in the 9's on the 1/4 tracks.

1966 CHEVROLET CAPRICE COUPE - NOT AN OPTION ANYMORE
This is the first full season for the Chevy Caprice, the top Chevy model.
Impala use to be the Chevy king but now comes this luxury/sporty Caprice.
However, the first Caprice model in 1965 was a $200 option package of the
Chevy Impala. So, in 1966 the Caprice was it's own brand in the Chevy
hierarchy. Healthy sales this year for the Caprice sold 181,000 units.
Actually, all Chevy models did well this year. Full size low-end Biscaynes
sold 122,000, next up Bel Air sold 236,000, regular Impalas sold 654,000.
Impala SS 119,000. So, we are talking about 1,312,000 full size Chevys
sold this year! This first year Caprice coupe sold for around $3,000
compared to the low-end Biscayne sedan two door - no coupe with this model,
sold for $2,484. Just look at this beautiful machine. The perfect
symetrical lines that show off sportiness and luxury at the same time.
From the handsome grille forshadowing the 327 cid turbo engine to that pristine and inviting
interior with the sporty instrument panel and wood grain console, to that
grain textured vinyl roof, and the horizontal tail lights, this Caprice
has it all. This is a good color for this Chevy. I hope you agree that
this is a great looking car. In four short years come the pure
luxury/sporty Monte Carlo. Thanks very much for viewing this '66 Chevy
Caprice, it's first year issue, and not an option anymore..
