Chevy LT-1 Cylinder Head Full Porting Stage IV
This is the full blown Stage IV Max Street porting of the LT-1 Cross-Flow Cylinder Head. Part One....In this we cover the begining to end of unshrouding and polishing the combustion chambers. Thanks to Tom Kish for the use of his heads and the extra time he allowed for me to film and perform these mods, and his permission to display his heads and work performed. This procedure removed 3cc of material, and blended the chambers to discourage detonation. This is part one of three of mods to turn a stock 170cc LT-1 heads into Edelbrock, AFR killers. Join me on Facebook! www.facebook.com/omgitsmrmack Just showing your guys how we go about polishing and getting the beautiful finishes after its all said and done.. this method takes some skill.. some might say i make it look easy.. at 14000rpm the grinder i use is not a joke and has hurt people when they dont use it properly.. when the paper unloads on a long rod it tends to bend the rod at a 90 degree angle and if the user freaks out and does not hold it away and let it slow down then they end up with a nice big sliced up arm or mid section.. i myself have bent a few in my time and lucky for my i have a quick reflex and manage to hold it away without hurting myself..

Part Four of Port modificatins on ProComp 210cc aluminum SBC heads. Guide over hang from installation and correcting the combustion chambers to unshroud the spark plug is a big deal on these heads. China castings leave a lot to be desired, but still with all the work you must do it is still the bargin of the year and is a force to be reckond with when "bang per buck" is needed. The base of the spark plug should not be exposed in the chamber, and any valve guide "Overhang" will obstruck flow and create fuel "sheer" which seperates vapor to droplets that wont burn. Most Big Name companies will not take time to detial these issues as production cost prohibit these mods, so have your local machine shop take apart your heads and look for these problems before you bolt them on your prize engine. www.headbytes.com 615-212-7168
