2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat: 707 Horsepower? Hell Yeah! – Ignition Ep. 116
On this episode of Ignition, presented by Universal Technical Institute,
Carlos Lago drives the most powerful production muscle car on the market:
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. While it isn’t the most powerful
production V-8 in the world (which loses to the $1 million McLaren P1 by 20
hp before electric motors), the Hellcat’s 707 hp rating seems too
incredible to believe -- especially when you consider the cost. The
question is whether this Challenger has any brain to go along with its
extreme brawn. Through a trip to the Dyno, the test track, the road,
and a standing mile, we find out.
Ignition appears every other Monday on the Motor Trend youtube channel.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat - Jay Leno's Garage
Jay Leno's Garage
First Drive: 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat 707 hp
The new 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is powered by the new supercharged
6.2-liter HEMI V-8 engine. Its 707 horsepower matches the
highest rating of any V-8 engine in Chrysler Group’s celebrated history.
The all-new supercharged V-8 engine is mated to the beefy new TorqueFlite
8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission.
This new Hellcat engine is Dodge and SRT’s first application of V-8 Supercharger technology, featuring a
forged-steel crankshaft with induction-hardened bearing surfaces. The
result is a crank so well-engineered it can withstand firing pressures of
110 bar (1,595 psi) – the equivalent of five family sedans standing on
each piston, every two revolutions. And its unique, specially tuned crank
damper has been tested to 13,000 rpm.
High-strength, forged-alloy pistons, developed using advanced telemetry
measurement, are coupled to powder-forged connecting rods with
high-load-capacity bushings and diamond-like-carbon-coated piston pins.
The supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 has premium-grade, heat-treated
aluminum-alloy cylinder heads, which are optimized for superior thermal
conductivity. And its die-cast aluminum rocker covers are HEMI Orange.
Standard on the Charger SRT Hellcat is the largest front-brake package ever
offered in a Chrysler Group vehicle, which were first introduced on the
2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat, featuring all-new 390-mm (15.4-inch) Brembo
two-piece rotors with six-piston calipers for outstanding heat management
and thermal capacity and longevity.
The unrivaled four-door performance numbers tell an impressive story with
the quarter mile in 11.0 seconds, 0-100-0 mph in under 13 seconds, and a
top speed of 204 mile per hour (mph).
The 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat’s restyled driver-focused interior features
premium, soft-touch materials, a new 7-inch thin-film transistor (TFT)
customizable digital instrument gauge cluster and a new instrument panel
center stack with the latest generation 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen media
New for 2015, drivers can select one of the many offered backgrounds to
connect the digital look and feel with their chosen interior package. In
addition, the Charger SRT Hellcat comes standard with a premium 900 watt,
18-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system.
An all-new and class-exclusive electronic shifter with an all-new
driver-oriented T-handle provides the driver with intuitive gear selection
and offers an Auto Stick selector gate for added control.
The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will be built at the Brampton (Ont.)
Assembly plant. Production is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2015.

2013 SRT Viper tears up the race track
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2013 SRT Viper is at home on the race track.
In fact the new SRT and GTS Viper is really a race car in civilian
clothing. Welcome to TFLcar's Viper week. For the next 5 days we'll be
featuring a new Viper video every day. Today we continue with a video of
the Viper doing what it does best....tearing up the Sonoma Raceway in the
hands of Ralph Gilles...the CEO and President of the newly minted SRT
Brand. The new Viper is Ralph's baby. He was intimately involved in the new
car's design and creation. In this video he talks about what makes the new
Viper such an American supercar classic and perhaps most interestingly he
reveals the newest generation of Viper will also get an automatic
transmission during the life of the car.

2013 Dodge Charger Super Bee HEMI SRT8 Test Drive & Muscle Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/dodge/charger/2013/?id=32972 The original Dodge
Super Bee dates back to 1968 and came out of the factory packing a huge
HEMI V-8 Engine. Now we have this monster 470 horsepower 4-door muscle
car. From 2007 - 2009 Dodge produced Super Bee Special Edition SRT8 that
added Navigation, Larger Rims, DVD, and some Special Edition Badging. This
also raised the price on those models. But for 2013, Dodge is offering a
car aimed at the enthusiast. This new Super Bee SRT8 is actually cheaper
than the regular SRT8 at $42,250 compared to $45,250. This sweet 4-door
muscle car is sure to be a big hit.
The 2013 Dodge Charger is the second iteration of the resurrected model.
The Charger is a true modern day muscle car since it checks the right
boxes; mainly RWD and a huge V-8. In the old days when you owned a muscle
car and lifted the hood up, the engine was right in your face in all its
glory. Over time it seems auto manufacturers have moved to covering the
engine with plastic pieces. Not so with the new Super Bee; the 6.4 liter
HEMI V-8 stares back at you. The engine makes 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. of
torque. It is hard to find a car out there that puts out this much power
for $42k. All the power needs a good transmission, so rather that use the
8-speed ZF automatic transmission that resides in the base model, Dodge put
in a strong 5-speed transmission to handle all the power.
Dodge is trying to tie things together as a brand. The Super Bee has a
crosshair grille. More vehicles from Dodge have this signature feature. At
night the rear LED tail lights really pop. On the inside the Dodge Charger
Super Bee the interior is very plain. That keeps the price down but also
enthusiasts are not interested in all that stuff. The gauges are unique to
the SRT family and the seats have Super Bee trim. About only options on the
2013 Dodge Charger Super Bee SRT8 are the high performance tires and the
paddle shifters which are worth every single penny.
Overall for the money, the Super Bee is a terrific value. No other car
gives you this much power and fun. If you want to have a little fun and
make a little noise, this car is the perfect choice.
