1970 Plymouth Superbird at the 2010 Mopar Nationals. This is the actual
car that won the Daytona 500. This was confirmed by the mechanics that
built the car back in 1970. When they finished restoring the car they
fired it up and the engine wasn't running right so Richard Petty himself
took his screwdriver and tuned the carb and got it running perfect!

1970 Plymouth Superbird- 1/2 scale
The sweetest, most awesome, one of a kind little car you have ever seen!!!
Handmade from scratch, all fiberglass body sitting on a go cart chasis,
with a new 8HP Briggs and Stratton motor. It's about half the size of a
regular car. Many details to make it look just like the real thing. The car
is 9ft long and you enter through the door.
Has been brought to 3 car shows, and man does it turn heads and get a lot
of "WOWs." To to be featured in an upcoming issue of Mopar Collectible
1970 Superbird & 1972 Cuda Racing On Interstate 75
This is my red, white and blue Superbird back when it was a stock Alpine
White Superbird. A group of us were on our way from Detroit, Michigan to
Columbus, Ohio for a Mopar show in September of 1985. We all had C.B.
radios and I lined up against a buddy of mine in a 1972 Cuda. The footage
was shot from another Superbird behind me. The "three count" was given
over the C.B. radio.
Wind Tunnel Test: "43" 1971 Petty Superbird
Gary & Pam Beineke built this race version G-Series Superbird-stable mate
to the K&K Daytona-a next generation, 'what-if' tribute to Petty and the
'71 NASCAR season that never was.
They took the car to Mooresville NC "Race City USA" to test in the A2 Wind
Tunnel. Although a full scale version was never built in 1971 Chrysler
performed wind tunnel development on a 3/8 scale model until NASCAR made a
rule change for the 71 season that would ban the wing cars from
competition. Gary Romberg is the technical director at AeroDyn & A2, and
also one of the original aerodynamicists that worked on the wing cars back
when they were developed at Chrysler. Notes and data from the 3/8 model
were donated to the Wing Warriors Car Club and the Beineke's built their
car based off data results from those wind tunnel tests in the 70's.
Romberg was on hand to see a project he worked on over 40 years ago get
built into a full scale version.

The 180 MPH 1969 Dodge Daytona: "Project Angrier"
The Smoking Tire heads to East Hampton to terrorize yuppies in the baddest
muscle car around: Mr. Angry's 1969 Dodge Daytona. Blasphemous to some,
envied by others, this is one tire-shredding muscle machine we'll take in
our garage any day.
