The Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is a new compact executive car on the platform of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class subcompact car and the Mercedes-Benz B-Class compact car debuting in 2013 as a 2014 model year vehicle alongside the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class crossover SUV. Since Daimler AG does not sell the Mercedes-Benz A-Class to the United States & Canada, it will be the smallest Mercedes-Benz offering in the United States apart from the Mercedes-Benz B-Class compact sold in Canada, and also, it will be sold only in sedan form. An AMG variant, the CLA 45 AMG 4MATIC, is also expected.

Mercedes has officially unveiled the 2014 S-Class at the Airbus A380 delivery center in Hamburg, Germany.
Designed to become one of the most luxurious and advanced vehicles ever constructed, the 2014 S-Class has an evolutionary design that incorporates a sportier front fascia, a larger grille and a gentle slanting rear end. The sleek styling enables the model to have drag coefficient of 0.24 which is pretty impressive considering the pint-sized CLA has a drag coefficient of 0.23.

This entry-level luxury car features the aggressive and sporty design found on higher end Mercedes vehicles combined with a finely crafted luxury interior; all at a very affordable price tag of around $30,000. The 2014 Mercedes CLA-Class should be hitting dealer showrooms this fall.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class includes many features and options found on much more expensive luxury cars. The engine is a turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 208 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is a dual-clutch 7-speed automatic. Outside the aggressive lines are not just for looks; instead they help with the aerodynamics of the car. LED daytime headlights are a staple in the luxury market and the CLA-Class sports some of the most beautiful lights found on any car. The front sport grille is very eyecatching with its silver-tipped studs. The large alloy wheels compliment the rest of the exterior.
The 2014 Mercedes CLA is a significant vehicle for the Tri-Star brand. Basically the CLA has the Executive Premium Styling found in the CLS brought down to an entry level luxury car. The Mercedes CLA is the new baby of the bunch; it is essentially a CLS in a smaller package. The exterior is very stunning thanks to the muscular 4-door coupe styling. The CLA has a lot going on, it is very luxurious on the inside and it looks fantastic on the outside. The meat under the hood is a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine pushing out a little over 200 horsepower and 250 lb-ft. of torque. As awesome as the outside is, the interior is an excellent place to be. The gauges look futuristic, the seats are comfortable, and the backseats have plenty of room. All of this adds up to a very impressive package. This might be a very hot seller for Mercedes-Benz. Besides the exterior styling, that wonderful interior, and the excellent engine; is the price which starts at around $30k. This car is a stunner and should hit showrooms later this year.

Stuttgart. The CLA is set to establish a new segment, with world-leading aerodynamics (Cd = 0.22), avant-garde coupé design and 4MATIC all wheel drive (optional). As a new four-door coupé it follows the idea of the CLS, whose design concept has spawned more than its fair share of imitators since its debut in 2003. With its frameless doors, the coupé adopts the design of the Concept Style Coupé into series production.
The newcomer features a radar-based braking system (COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST) as standard which is able to warn the driver of an obstacle from a speed of 7 km/h and to initiate precision braking when the driver steps on the brake pedal. The new CLA is available for ordering with immediate effect and will be delivered to dealerships in April. Prices begin at 28,977 euros for the CLA 180.
"The response to the Concept Style Coupé was overwhelming. The most frequent comment by far was 'Please put this car into series production.'
That's precisely what we are doing now," notes Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management at Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars. "The CLA is a car that does not confuse 'middle range' with 'middling quality'. Its sporty design underscores the sporty side of the Mercedes-Benz brand."
In keeping with its sporty positioning, the CLA is available with high-torque turbo engines rated at up to 155 kW (211 hp), sports suspension and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The technical highlights of this new design icon include a new world record in aerodynamics for series production automobiles (Cd value: 0.22) and numerous driving assistance systems, including advanced COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST.
This radar-based assistance system provides the possibly distracted driver with visual and acoustic warnings of identified obstacles and prepares Brake Assist for precision braking. Braking is initiated as soon as the driver steps emphatically on the brake pedal. When an impending danger of collision is identified, COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST calculates the precise braking force ideally needed to avoid an accident and makes the best possible use of any distance remaining. As a new feature, COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST affords protection from typical rear-end collisions in dangerous traffic situations in the CLA from a speed of only 7 km/h (previously: over 30 km/h).
Five lines and packages which vary greatly in character are available to individualise the striking compact mid-range coupé (length/width/height: 4630/1777/1437 millimetres). In keeping with the digital lifestyle of the CLA's social media-savvy target group, smartphones can additionally be
fully integrated into the vehicle's display and operating system.
Following a brief appearance on the eve of the NAIAS in Detroit (14 to 27 January 2013), the CLA will have its official world premiere
at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin (15 to 18 January 2013).
The new CLA is available for ordering with immediate effect and will
be delivered to dealerships in April.
The style rebel: exterior design
Its breathtakingly sporty proportions and powerfully dynamic design idiom featuring an interplay between concave and convex surfaces give this four-door coupé its unmistakable look. The CLA adopts the avant-garde design of the Concept Style Coupé into series production almost 1:1.
The vehicle's striking features include the bonnet embedded in the front end with powerdomes and the diamond radiator grille. The light modules and LEDs behind the headlamp cover glass have been arranged in such a way as to create the characteristic "flare effect" for the daytime driving lights and indicators. This light signet defines the car's energetic appearance and shapes a new, youthful Mercedes face.
Numerous details indicate that on a design level the CLA represents a further development of the modern classic Mercedes-Benz CLS. Three prominent lines give structure to the vehicle when viewed from the side: the front structural edge over the wings flows towards the rear end in a characteristic dropping line. Another, more sinewy line spans the shoulder muscle above the rear axle, while the third feature line extends in a sweeping curve from the front wheel towards the rear. Together, these lines lend depth and dynamism to the side profile.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is a new compact executive car on the platform of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class subcompact car and the Mercedes-Benz B-Class compact car debuting in 2013 as a 2014 model year vehicle[1] alongside the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class crossover SUV. Since Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler AG does not sell the Mercedes-Benz A-Class to the United States & Canada, it will be the smallest Mercedes-Benz offering in the United States apart from the Mercedes-Benz B-Class compact sold in Canada, and also, it will be sold only in sedan form. An AMG variant, the CLA 45 AMG 4MATIC, is also expected.
It is a four-door concept vehicle with I4 turbocharged engine rated 211 PS (155 kW; 208 hp), all-wheel drive system 4MATIC, 7G-DCT dual clutch automatic transmission, diamond-look grille from Concept A-CLASS, Alubeam body colour, headlamps shining red at standby mode, indicators with individual points of light light up in succession, 21-inch wheels with perforated pins on the spokes, frameless side windows, panoramic roof, metallic-red colouring taillights, instrument panel upholstered in white nubuck leather, anthracite-coloured Alcantara on the upper section of the instrument panel, suede on the sports steering wheel, chrome trim elements and control panels in black anodised finish, surfaces around the HMI control panel in glossy shimmer of black anodised aluminium, four integral seats with integrated head restraints from Sports version of the new A-Class, air vents in the instrument panel from Concept A-CLASS.
The vehicle was unveiled in Avant/Garde Diaries event in Los Angeles, followed by Auto China 2012.
The vehicle, known by the model code of C 117, was unveiled at the 2013 North American International Auto Show, and is scheduled to be on sale by April 2013.[5]
CLA 45 AMG (2013-)
It included AMG 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, 4MATIC all wheel drive, SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission, AMG sports suspension with independently developed front and rear axles, electromechanical AMG speed-sensitive sports steering, AMG high-performance braking system, 3-stage ESP with "SPORT Handling" mode.
As part of CLA-Class US product launch, a television commercial was produced to be premiered in the 4th quarter of Super Bowl XLVII 2013
