Ducati Streetfighter 848 vs Triumph Street Triple R! - On Two Wheels Episode 25
On this episode of On Two Wheels, Sport Rider Magazine's Bradley Adams and Eric Nugent pit Ducati's Streetfighter 848 against Triumph's all-new 2013 Street Triple R as part of this year's middleweight naked bike comparison. The two quickly learn that planning a trip in the middle of January wasn't their smartest decision in recent years, but ultimately discover how versatile these bikes truly are. In typical On Two Wheels fashion, only one bike can come out on top, but which will it be? Triumph's lighter, 675cc Street Triple R, or Ducati's elegant, traction control-equipped Streetfighter 848? This year we've assembled the aristocrats of the class — Aprilia Tuono V4 R APRC, MV Agusta Brutale R 1090 and Triumph Speed Triple R — to determine the hierarchy of the naked elite. KTM Super Duke R, Aprilia Tuono V4R ABS, Triumph Speed Triple | Group Test | Motorcyclenews.com
Triumph's Speed Triple is MCN's long-standing king of the traditional naked litre-class bikes, free of traction control and rider modes. At the other end of the spectrum is Aprilia's Tuono V4R, which grabbed all the accolades with brutal power and myriad electronic rider aids. But now there's a new 'Beast' fighting for naked honours: KTM's 1290 Super Duke R. We took all three to the south of France to find out. Get the best of biking EVERY day... 2014 Super Naked Street Brawl
In the track version of our Super Streetfighter Smackdown, the KTM 1290 Super Duke R won over the BMW S1000R by the narrowest of margins. Which is all well and good for the small percentage of riders who'll actually take these bikes to the track. For the greater population, riding these motorcycles on the mean streets of America, the streetable personas of these two and the Ducati Monster 1200S and Kawasaki Z1000 ABS are far more important. MV Agusta F3 vs Triumph Daytona 675R! Three-Cylinder Smackdown - On Two Wheels Episode 15
For years, any reference to a "675" meant you were talking about Triumph's Daytona 675. But now that the 675cc MV Agusta F3 is available, the Triumph isn't the only three-cylinder sportbike on the block. On this episode of On Two Wheels, we run the new F3 on the Dyno, down the dragstrip and around Buttonwillow Raceway to see how it performs, and then we bring in the Daytona 675R to see how it stacks up against it's Italian three-cylinder counterpart. On Two Wheels appears every other Wednesday on the new Motor Trend channel. http://www.youtube.com/motortrend Subscribe now to make sure you're in on all the action! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=motortrend Facebook - http://facebook.com/motortrendmag & http://www.facebook.com/motorcyclistmag Twitter - http://twitter.com/motortrend Google+ - https://plus.google.com/101867967859016552744/posts Website - http://www.motortrend.com & http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/index.htm

Street Triple crashes in a tight corner
2008 Triumph Street Triple lowsides in a tight corner on Panoramic Highway. :( Skip to 2:15 for the crash, slow motion replays, and video of the damage. The Exhaust sound in the video is from the camera bike, not me. The bike and the tires were not at their traction limit. The road had to have been the major factor. I have leaned quite farther on this bike before. I was completely unhurt - not a scratch, no bruises, nothing was even sore. Wear your gear on rides like this. Looking at the slow motion video, you can see my handlebars turn (front tire loses traction) at the same time as the rear tire loses it. I did not touch the brakes at all. The damage to the bike: Bent handlebar at the clamp (fixed by loosening the bolts and re-tightening) Scratched clutch lever and bar end (non-issue really) Lost the turn signal switch Scratched mirror (it rotated on its mount, so it didn't break off, non-issue) Bad scratch on the engine case Shifter bent 90 degrees Rear plastic cracked The tank was untouched. I rode the bike home. The only thing I'm replacing is the shifter. As for my gear: tiny scratch on the jacket, boots and pants only scratched on the plastic sliders, and one glove was scratched on the carbon fiber knuckle. The helmet did not impact. My gopro was on the bike following me, so I don't have on-board footage. This was my first crash after 2 years of riding.
